So, my older DS has decided he LOVES the name [name]Fiona[/name]! When we discuss any other names (he over hears my conversations with DH sometimes) he will pipe up and say “NO! I like [name]Fiona[/name] more than those names”. Sometimes he gets very insistent on his sissy being [name]Fiona[/name] and even gets upset if I ask “how about we name her____?”, haha. Have any of you ever used a name (you love obviously, as I love [name]Fiona[/name]) primarily becuase of your child’s insistence on using it? I am planning on not naming her until we meet her, the top names right now are [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], and [name]Phoebe[/name]. But I almost feel like if we come home without a [name]Fiona[/name] my son will be devastated! I’ve always loved [name]Fiona[/name], so it isn’t bad to use it, I just almost feel like I HAVE to use it now… wdyt? He’s just so cute…
Anyway, I have a DD named [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Cait[/name] (prn [name]Kate[/name]). I [name]ADORE[/name] her name and her mn. It feels very sweet, pure, girl-next-door to me. Can you please help me find a similar mn for [name]Fiona[/name]? Here is what I have:

He latched onto the name [name]Madeline[/name] and I felt the same, kind of fearful about not using it. But then he switched to wanting to name here Spygirl, and that one was not on the list, needless to say! Hah! We did end up using [name]Madeline[/name] bc in the end it was our fav. He still sometimes calls her Spygirl, which is cute. I really think now he would have adjusted to whatever name we chose, so I wouldn’t let it trap you with [name]Fiona[/name] if you’re not totally on board with it when you see her. To go with [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Cait[/name] (love), I would do [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Claire[/name]. I also like [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name].
Saraallison: thx! My ds is 4.5:). It’s funny, he hasn’t waivered at all on naming, lol! He says it so sweetly too:). We love the name, it’s been my favorite for a few years. I had to convince my DH of it, but now even he loves it:). I’m not sure if it’s what the name will turn out to be, but it’s our favorite so far! I worry over Shrek comments, but maybe it’s not a big deal. [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Claire[/name] might be my fav!
Okay, this thread is near and dear to my heart, because I am due in 6 weeks and our top 4 names are [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name]. We keep jumping between these four and probably won’t choose a name until she’s born, but [name]Fiona[/name] tends to come up most often as the leader. I initially had the Shrek concern as well, but decided it doesn’t bother me enough to rule out the name. My 3.5 yo daughter ([name]Juliet[/name] LaClair) is hooked on [name]Phoebe[/name], but for us, she doesn’t get a vote. From my perspective she will get her turn to choose a name when she has her own child. Btw, [name]Violet[/name] is on our list of middle names as well. My husband was a little spooked when I read your post to him!
