[name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is my favorite!

My favorites are [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. You might like [name_m]Otis[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m].

Congrats on your new arrival.

I like the consonance of [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Fox[/name_m], but [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is a good choice too. I hope you’ll consider giving him [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] (or whatever spelling you prefer) as the formal name on the birth certificate rather than [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]. It will make things easier on him when he’s a grown up.

Thanks for your feedback so far. [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] does sound cool. We’re planning on just using [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] as that is what he would go by 100% of the time and so many of his little buddies have names like [name_m]Albie[/name_m] and [name_m]Archie[/name_m] without a longer formal name.

[name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Archer[/name_m] is gorgeous! [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] is really sweet too!

It’s so hard to choose! I don’t know if my partner will let me use an animal middle name and I wonder if they will date quite quickly.

I voted for [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Valor[/name_m] but I also like [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]

I agree with this. Also [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is my favourite

I do not agree with having [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] on the birth certificate will “make it easier for him” over having [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] on the birth certificate. We are not talking about a difficult to wear name or a made-up name, we are talking about [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]. Over reactions in general seem to be an in thing, at least in the US. [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] will fit in with all the boys/men named; [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Alphie[/name_m], [name_m]Archie[/name_m], [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], [name_m]Ralphie[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], … Then there are all those with a “full name” on the birth certificate that only go by a nickname. Plus a name (although a made up or out there name might not help) does not dictate whether a person will have an easy life or not. Their upbringing and environment does among other things. Plus who are the ones in control to decide which names fit this “rule” that some people feel exists?

And if someone asked my opinion on [name_m]Archie[/name_m] or [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], I’d tell them the same thing. Yes [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] works perfectly fine (because of how popular it is) on its own and yes it’s cute, but will a grown man think it’s cute to have a nickname as a name?

That’s all I meant when I said I agreed with giving a child a full name and not a nickname as a name.

[name_u]Freddie[/name_u] Stryder
[name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Maverick[/name_m]
[name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]
[name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Rider[/name_m]

I really like valor - super cool

There are many, MANY grown men with names you might consider nickname names…or only go by nicknames. If [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] decides he wants to go by another name, he could use [name_m]Fred[/name_m] or use his middle. There are also grown men (and boys) that hope that people do not learn their full names because they feel embarrassed by them.

I voted for [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Archer[/name_m], I love the way it sounds.

Thanks again for all your opinions. I do feel confident in using just [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] and I think if I lived in [name_m]Britain[/name_m] there would be a need for a longer name. It’s nice to hear everyone’s thoughts and open up discussion.

I went for [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m]. [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m] reminds me of [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m]'s travels which I enjoyed as a child, and my children did also.

I do love [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m]’s Travels.

I actually think in [name_m]Britain[/name_m] you wouldn’t need a longer name; [name_m]Britain[/name_m] is the heartland of foppish, twee shortened names (and I love that!).

I voted for [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] - sounds awesome. My second choice would be [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Valor[/name_m]; third, [name_u]Everest[/name_u]. (Also think Everett sounds good.) My feeling is the animal names are just that too cutesy and baby’ish with [name_u]Freddie[/name_u].

[name_m]Otis[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] & [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] is my favourite combo
