I’m due with my baby in December, I love the name Hailey (Hayley, Haley, Hailee) however you want to spell it however my wife and I can’t seem to find a middle name (we would like two middle names)
We went back and forth about Hailey ??? Raine (We met because of the rain long story)
We thought about Ashley because of my sister (I grew up in a very anti-LGBTQ+ community) and she was one of the only people that supported us, my wife’s parents came around but still we would prefer to not name our baby after them, I love long fancy names however my wife prefers a more gender-neutral take.
Some other names we liked where: Camille, Alexandra, Quinn, Aurora, Natalie, April, Summer (I loved this but because I’m due in December) Ariel, Savannah and Brooklyn.
Also how would you spell Hailey? I love Hailey and my wife loves Hailee.
Thank you,
Ruby
I prefer the [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] spelling – it seems more likely that people will spell it correctly and that you’ll be able to find it in gift shops.
As for middle names, the repeating letters in [name_u]Raine[/name_u] and [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] do put me off a bit when it’s written out, although [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [first middle name] [name_u]Raine[/name_u] sounds nice out loud! You could also use a name that means rain if you wanted to pay homage to how you met, or maybe something meaning rainbow (Hailey [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [second middle, maybe [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] Raine?] comes to mind) which would have sort of a double meaning? If you don’t want to use [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] itself but still wanted to honor your sister, maybe [name_u]Ash[/name_u], [name_u]Ashton[/name_u], [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f], [name_u]Asher[/name_u], etc.? All but [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] are gender-neutral, which might appeal to your wife. Maybe one long fancy name followed by something short and gender-neutral?
Some other combos I thought of: [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Raine[/name_u], [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_u]Ash[/name_u] [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u], [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] Ashlyn/Ashton [name_u]Raine[/name_u].
Good luck!
Thank you so much! I love the sound of those names together! I’m loving [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Raine[/name_u] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! Thank you so much again!

I like [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] - seems most instinctive.
A few middle name ideas:
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] [name_f]Neve[/name_f]
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_u]Ashton[/name_u]
Those are beautiful, thank you!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
I love [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] spelled this way. I’m a little bit biased, because [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] was my sweet cat’s name when I was a kid. I like the idea of [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] [name_u]Rain[/name_u] (would stick with this spelling) for your little girl. Feels very special.
I love this.
I have an ee ending name and a double middle name so I’m really connecting to your name choice. [name_f]My[/name_f] name is not spelled traditionally and it gets misspelled a lot so for that reason I prefer [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] to [name_f]Hailee[/name_f]
I think that [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] [name_u]Raine[/name_u] works, even with the repeated sounds, and the meaning is beautiful. Does your sister have a middle name that could be used if you feel it flows better?
[name_u]Or[/name_u]:
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Asha[/name_f] [name_u]Raine[/name_u]
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Ashleen[/name_f] [name_u]Raine[/name_u]
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u]
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f]
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] and [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] both have meanings relating to meadows so you are still honoring your sister that way which is sweet
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_u]Raine[/name_u]- [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] since you are due in [name_u]December[/name_u].
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Savannah[/name_f]- suggested [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] bc it’s similar to [name_u]Ariel[/name_u].
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]- suggested [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] bc it’s close to [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u].
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Raine[/name_u] is lovely (biased as I’m a [name_u]Haley[/name_u] Al@nnah ). Of your options, I really like both, but I’ve always been a fan of the double ee’s, so I’d say [name_f]Hailee[/name_f]!
[name_f]Hailee[/name_f] [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] would also be very sweet!
As far as spelling goes, I mean, I work in childcare and see all sorts of odd spellings - we adapt and get used to them. It’s not that difficult generally so I wouldn’t fret about it too much. Also, Hailey/Hailee is one of those names that has to be spelled out regardless of which spelling you use - my spelling was the most common in the mid 90’s (when i was born) and yet everyone defaults to something else. It’s just one of those names with lots of options so it’s hard to guess (much like [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f] or Ashley).
All those names are stunning, thank you! [name_f]My[/name_f] sister is [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!
How pretty. In that case I also suggest [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Raine[/name_u]
I like [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] best for the spelling! I say go with the most meaningful middle names—those are more important in the long-run than questions of how it sounds.
I do like [name_f]Raina[/name_f] as an idea for you, though—I think it sounds nice with [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] and has the “rain” connection.
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Raina[/name_f] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] would probably be my choice, but [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] [name_u]Raine[/name_u] works too!
I also love [name_u]Camille[/name_u]!
I think with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] in the family I would use [name_u]Rain[/name_u].
I like [name_f]Hailee[/name_f] [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u] best. Very pretty!
you should have a name ending in a consonant and starting with a consonant or an ‘a’ to sort of round it off since [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] ends with the ‘ee’ sound. idk its sorta confusing.
I love [name_f]Hailee[/name_f]!
[name_f]Hailee[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Raine[/name_u] would be my pick!
Congrats and good luck!
