So my husband I are expecting a little girl in [name_u]June[/name_u]. We’ve recently been considering naming her [name_f]Helen[/name_f]. We both like that it’s a underused, saintly classic. [name_f]Nell[/name_f] is a sweet nickname that we’d use.
I am totally drawing a blank for a middle name. I don’t think we’d want anything too unusual. Another saint or virtue name would be preferred. Our last name is Tys0n.
With your surname I really think [name_f]Helena[/name_f] flows better. The -a at the end makes the endings less similar and the extra syllable adds rhythm. I adore both [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] but I would definitely choose the latter with your surname.
I agree [name_f]Helena[/name_f] flows better, but I don’t like [name_f]Helena[/name_f]. If we don’t go with [name_f]Helen[/name_f] will likely use [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (or maybe [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]) both of those also have flow issues with Tys0n. I don’t think any of the 3 are deal breakers.
Thanks, it’s definitely worth considering. I even had a poll on here about it several years ago. We’ve actually considered Eleanor as another way to get to Nell but it isn’t as saintly so we’ve been focusing on Helen.
I would go with something more modern for the middle name because [name_f]Helen[/name_f]/ [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is an “older lady name” which isn’t a bad thing.
Something uni sex or traditionaly male like
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_m]Micheal[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
or something more trendy like
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Evie[/name_f]
Masie
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
[name_u]Lennox[/name_u]
Lots of good suggestions. I like [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] and [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Still don’t feel like I’ve found the one.
