We are having a boy and we really like the name Ivan. My husband is Hispanic/Mexican so the baby’s name will be pronounced differently by his Spanish speaking relatives. It will be pronounced eye-van by my side of the family and ee-bahn by my husband’s side. Just wondering if anyone had some suggestions for middle names that sound good with both pronunciations. We were possibly thinking about using my husband’s name which is Efraín. So Ivan Efrain but idk if that sounds good. Or using my dads name, which is Lee. But we have a lot of lee’s in my family already. I also like the names Arsenio, Elric, and Emilio but can’t decide if any of them fit with Ivan. Any suggestions would be helpful and it doesn’t necessarily have to be a Spanish name.
[name_m]Ivan[/name_m] is lovely
I think [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sounds nice and would be a nice tribute too your dad. I think [name_m]Emilio[/name_m] bringing in that ‘Lee’ sound with the ending could be sweet. [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Emilio[/name_m] is such a handsome name. Other ‘Lee’ ideas could be [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_u]Leo[/name_u], [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_u]Liam[/name_u], [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Leandro[/name_m] and [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_u]Leander[/name_u]. I think incorporating the [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sound maybe be nice. Personally I think [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Efrain[/name_m] flow is a little off as they both end in the ‘n’ sound so it’s a little bit awkward. Maybe using an ‘e’ name could work like [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m] or [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]. In my culture (Jewish) you honour a loved one by using a name that begins with the same initial as there’s so I think using an ‘e’ name may be sweet of honouring your OH. Elric could also work for honouring him as well and would be including a favourite of yours. Concerning [name_m]Arsenio[/name_m] I’m not a massive fan of this name but can definitely work with [name_m]Ivan[/name_m].
