Our second son is due in two days. We’ve settled on [name_m]Jack[/name_m] as a first name, but are stuck on a middle name. SO likes [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] and I am partial to [name_m]William[/name_m], but am still open to other ideas. DS1 is [name_u]Max[/name_u].
The issue that we’re having is how the middle name choices flow with [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. I worry that [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] (and many other names that start w a vowel) contract with [name_m]Jack[/name_m] like so: “Jacandrew”; SO thinks that [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] doesn’t flow well and requires too much enunciation. I realize that the whole issue might be overthought because how often do you use your middle name?
Still, any thoughts, preferences, alternatives etc from you all would be welcome. We are running out of time!
[name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] and [name_m]William[/name_m] are excellent w/[name_m]Jack[/name_m]. I also like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] Ashford, [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Cabot[/name_m], and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], if you wish to consider something more distinctive.
Sorry, but when I read [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] aloud, I have to stop myself from saying “[name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Jill[/name_f].” I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m].
I agree with hixtwin4…[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] sounds like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_u]Drew[/name_u]. It’s a minor issue, though.
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] sounds much better, although as names they don’t really match. [name_m]William[/name_m] is so formal compared to [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. What I’m REALLY loving is rkrd’s suggestion of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Cabot[/name_m]. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is not a name I’d normally go for, I’m pretty “meh” about it on its own. But when I scrolled down and saw [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Cabot[/name_m], whoa, that made me picture the most charming guy with dark hair, impeccable style and sparkling eyes. I’m team [name_m]Cabot[/name_m]!
