So, further to my recent post requesting help on name combos (and with less and less time remaining!) I am thinking [name_u]Jude[/name_u] could be my pick for a boy.
([name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] for a girl - mn = my grandmother’s name).
I think [name_u]Jude[/name_u] goes well with our surname ([name_m]Austin[/name_m]) on its own, but am a little stuck with mn’s as OH has ruled out most of my picks (including my grandfather’s name, [name_m]Philip[/name_m], which I was keen on using.
I know a middle name isn’t compulsory, but I think I would like to use one if I can find the right fit.
I like the flow of [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] as many of the other combos I’ve tried with shorter mn’s don’t quite have the right rhythm, but I wouldn’t be using the name because I like it, just because it flows nicely and I’m not sure if that’s a good enough reason!? I wouldn’t mind something quirky like [name_m]Zebedee[/name_m] as a mn but I’m not sure that flows as well as I’d like…
Anyway, I’ll stop rambling now, but if anyone has any bright ideas, please share!!
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is gorgeous! I also love [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is a strong middle and I do like the longer name to balance out [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_m]Austin[/name_m]. I think it needs to be two or three syllables. It sounds like you are open to more adventurous names too!
I also love
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Austin[/name_m] (it’s my son’s middle name and he gets lots of compliments!)
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_u]Banjo[/name_u] [name_m]Austin[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Austin[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Austin[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] wass the first name I thought of when I saw the title of your post. I think it’s fine to use if for the flow if you don’t find something you love.
Maybe you could use your grandfather’s help middle or last name.
Your grandmother, your grandfather… YOUR?
Is hubby an orphan? Have any of his ancestors names been considered?
What about [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Winston[/name_m]… sort of after your grandmother [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]? Or [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]?
And how about using a feminine version of a grandfather’s name for the girl? Like [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f]?
I don’t think honoring someone requires you to use the exact name.
I think it’s lovely and meaningful for you to create a bond, even if stretched thin.
Haha I should explain, this is child #3 for my other half, but #1 and realistically only for me! He has used honour names relating to his side of the family within both his older children’s names and I have been “given the lead” for little bubs
