Looking for middle name suggestions for baby girl #2, [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m] (three “n” sounds make it tough). Big sister’s name is [name_u]Rylee[/name_u] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m]. We do lean towards nature names, but I’m hesitant on using another one and risking being too matchy or cheesy. Having said that, I still love [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Raine[/name_f] and [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] (or [name_u]Skylar[/name_u]). [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Raine[/name_f] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m] has even more “n” sounds though :-? Any and all feedback is appreciated!
As far as overdoing sounds goes, I’ve heard a lot worse than [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Raine[/name_f] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m]: if you do like that name best, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. My top pick of your three would be [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_u]Skylar[/name_u], since [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] in and of itself kind of falls into the nature/hippie category. To match the best with your daughter without locking yourself into a trend, I’d just give them each one. [name_u]Rylee[/name_u] and [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] have that “y” sound/general rhythm in common, too, so that’s a plus in my book
[name_u]Rylee[/name_u] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] is lot more feminine than [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Raine[/name_f] or [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] — not a big deal in my book, but that ambiguity bothers a lot of people. The rhythm seems to work, so it’s not an “N” overload, but something more botanical might flow better and keep the nature theme going without being too obvious about it. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] might not be distinctive enough, but it flows well.
I would go with [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u].
I would suggest choosing a name that isn’t unisex so that when her name is on paper, one would know that she is female. Two unisex names leaves one guessing. Suggestions…
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] (so-[name_m]LAY[/name_m])
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Delta[/name_f]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] comes to mind as a nature name with a different sort of sound.
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_u]Blue[/name_u]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
I couldn’t agree more about [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] going really well with [name_u]Rylee[/name_u]! I do get a little hung up on [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] not being feminine enough though Naming the second girl is so hard!
My husband loves your [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] recommendation. This has got me thinking about [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I had originally picked [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] until I found out there are famous sisters named [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] and [name_f]Maisy[/name_f]…
I would not use [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] on a girl. @whitegardenia middle names are rarely used so a feminine middle name for a unisex/male first name would do very little, especially in a day to day basis, to indicate that the person is female.
I think [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is so sweet!
Feminine middle names can go a long way for unisex first names, because they’re used at the doctor’s office, teachers’ rosters, formal announcements and invitations, etc. There are also lots of people who choose to go by their middle name for everyday use.
I could not disagree more… I think [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] is absolutely gorgeous for a girl <3
I realize that some people aren’t going to like [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] for a girl. Most people either love or hate the idea. I’m okay with that! We love it <3 We just hope she does too.
Keep the middle names coming! So far top contenders are:
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Raine[/name_f]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] (I’m so hesitant b/c of the famous sisters [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] & [name_f]Maisy[/name_f], but it has such a great ring to it!)
Thank you all for your feedback! Keep the middle names coming! So far top contenders are:

[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Evvie[/name_f]
I don’t really understand why it’s a big deal if a name isn’t automatically recognizable as female or male, honestly most names aren’t anymore (ie [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] etc). I think [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] is lovely.
I do like [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] a lot. Other suggestions:

Thoughts on these? Good luck naming your daughter
I really like [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m]!
I have to admit I wasn’t sold on [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] as a first name for a girl; I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either, but balancing it out with a feminine nickname like [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] really changes my initial opinion of this name! [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] is obviously a girl’s name, and is both cute and spunky. The ‘y’ subtly links it to [name_u]Rylee[/name_u] a little and I think that the two syllable length balences perfectly with your last name.
Your other options are nice too, I just don’t think that they work as well as [name_f]Maisy[/name_f]. For me, the balance of the name is a little off with a one syllable middle such as [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Raine[/name_f], and I do think that there is an ‘n’ overload with [name_f]Raine[/name_f] as a middle. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is lovely, but possibly a little long, and I don’t think that it fits well with your naming style.
Good luck finding the perfect name
I love several of these, but have ruled them out either because DH doesn’t agree, the middle isn’t feminine enough, my friend’s have already used them, we have friends or family with the name already, or to avoid rhyming DD’s middle name. So many factors to consider
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is really nice, but we have a friend named [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and her daughter’s named [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] (she wants us to use the name, but it would be weird if we paired it with her name too)
I agree with all of your points. [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] really is the best fit all around. But what if these [name_f]Stella[/name_f] sisters turn all [name_f]Britney[/name_f] Spears on us in a few years!?
I’ve never heard of Lennon for a girl.
I recommend a undeniably girly name in the middle name spot, so she can use it instead of Lennon, if she wants.
The ideas of Lennon Raine, Daisy or Maisy, Elizabeth, and Rose are perfect. Literally anything that’s exclusively used for girls.
Good luck! =]
