We are expecting our second baby and waiting to find out the gender until birth. We have our girl name set. Our boy name will be Levi for sure, but we are stuck on a middle. We want to use a “G” middle name to honor family members. The problem is that the family name is “Guy”… which rhymes… “Levi Guy”.
First, do you think that is an issue? Would people notice it rhymes? I feel like boys rarely use their middle names. If that sounds too silly, we’re open to any middle name that starts with “G”, are there any other suggestions?
We also could do John or Michael as a middle name, but really strongly want to use the G as that has more family ties than the other two options. Also, the other two sound a bit boring in my opinion.
Thanks!
I think it sounds perfectly fine tbh! And the middle spot is exactly where a less-than-ideal honor name belongs. As you said, middle names are rarely used in everyday life.

It’s not the worst flow but not the best - really just matters whether it needs to be the exact name for it to feel like an honour.
Some alternatives inspired by [name_m]Guy[/name_m] ~
[name_m]Guido[/name_m]
[name_m]Gulliver[/name_m]
[name_u]Gus[/name_u]
[name_u]Guthrie[/name_u]
[name_m]Guyon[/name_m] (GEE-yon)
[name_m]Gawain[/name_m]
[name_u]Glyn[/name_u]
[name_u]Grey[/name_u]
[name_m]Gryphon[/name_m]
[name_u]Gwyn[/name_u]
[name_m]Guy[/name_m] means ‘leader’ so you could swap it for [name_u]Fallon[/name_u] or [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] which mean the same
Since it’s a middle, I think you could make it work!
A few others:
[name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_m]Gaius[/name_m]
[name_u]Levi[/name_u] Gionvani (honours [name_u]John[/name_u] too)
[name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_u]Gus[/name_u]
[name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]
[name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]
[name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]
I think [name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_m]Guy[/name_m] works just fine. I think using the honor name is more important than having the “perfect” flow.
I think meaning trumps flow. So if [name_m]Guy[/name_m] is super meaningful thats the one.
However if the flow really bothers you Id go with something else. Youve already got some great suggestions. The only other one I can think of is MacGyver/ McGyver It doesnt start with ‘g’ but has the strong ‘guy’ sound plus kind of combines [name_u]Michael[/name_u] & guy.
A few more G middle ideas are [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_u]Gene[/name_u] & [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u].
It sounds a little silly to me, but not out of the question? I LOVE the suggestion of [name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_m]Gaius[/name_m]!
[name_f]My[/name_f] thought was a second middle names… like [name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Guy[/name_m]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] something unrelated to family like [name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Guy[/name_m] or [name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] [name_m]Guy[/name_m].
Good luck!
