Middle name for Lydia

I’m pretty set on the first name [name]Lydia[/name]. But the middle name is where I’m conflicted. I would like to honor my grandmother that passed away last year but I’m not crazy about either of her names: [name]Marjorie[/name] [name]Lorraine[/name]. My husband’s grandmother’s (who is still alive and well and who I adore) middle name is [name]Rae[/name] which I think sounds super cute with [name]Lydia[/name]. I’m just conflicted as whether to go with the name I like, or the one that honor’s my grandmother (leaning more towards [name]Lorraine[/name] than [name]Marjorie[/name]). Thoughts?

[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Lorraine[/name] sounds better than [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Marjorie[/name]

[name]Lydia[/name] is lovely! [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Rae[/name] is pretty, but if you really want to honor your grandmother, I would keep looking. [name]Marjorie[/name] is a form of [name]Margaret[/name]–maybe you could do another variation? Like [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Margot[/name], [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name], etc.? [name]Just[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Lorraine[/name] is very pretty, too. Or you could maybe just do [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Raine[/name]? Sometimes people’s birthstones and birth flowers are usable, or maybe a name associated to a hobby or a favorite color could work, too… my grandmother loves birds so I have names like [name]Wren[/name], [name]Lark[/name], [name]Sparrow[/name], [name]Starling[/name], etc., to honor her. Would anything like that appeal to you?

Good luck!

I agree. I’m more trying to decide between [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Lorraine[/name] or [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Rae[/name].

Oooo good idea with the “loves” [name]Ash[/name]!

I would say that [name]Rae[/name] is a part of [name]Lorraine[/name] and could be considered as a honor to your grandmother!

I love the name [name]Rae[/name]… its adorable!, Or if you want something a little MORE honorary ( and dont mind odd spelling) you could do [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Rai[/name] …?

You could also use [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Mae[/name] with the M from [name]Marjorie[/name] and AE from [name]Rae[/name] as a way to honor them both.
