Middle Name for Miette?

Looking for suggestions for middle names for Miette.

Last name is long and hyphenated (starts with M).

Something to balance out the “cuteness” of Miette. We love the meaning of “little crumb” but would like to pair a strong name with it. Nature names would be a plus.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name Miette, I’m planning to use it for my twin girls due in [name_f]May[/name_f] but haven’t decided how yet (possibly as a middle name). If it were up to me I’d go with [name_f]Clemence[/name_f] and Miette but the OH isn’t keen. Definitely interested to see what answers you get here

My suggestions:

Miette [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
Miette [name_f]Appoline[/name_f]
Miette [name_f]Camille[/name_f]
Miette [name_u]Pascale[/name_u]

Miette [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
Miette [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
Miette [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]

Those are lovely names! I love [name_f]Clemence[/name_f] for your other daughter, too. Miette [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is lovely. I’m afraid most of those combos sound TOO [name_m]French[/name_m] for us, though. I’m looking for a middle name to tone down the [name_m]French[/name_m]/feminine/sweet qualities of the first name.

I like Miette [name_u]Winter[/name_u] to borrow from your signature. Other ideas:
Miette [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
Miette [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
Miette [name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
Miette [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]
Miette [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
Miette [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]

Miette [name_f]Aviana[/name_f] (it means bird)
Miette [name_f]Louella[/name_f]/[name_f]Luella[/name_f] (too cute?)
Miette [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
Mietta [name_f]Kiara[/name_f]
Miette [name_u]Tiernan[/name_u]

You do realize that miette actually literally translates to “crumb” right? It’s a word, not a name like Vivienne means “life”. It is used as a pet name in France (much, in the same way, I imagine I use “little bit” or “button” as a pet name for Lu) and very, very rarely as a given name. You probably already realize that but just in case! If a french person said they loved the name Crumb and, say, it was a common pet name where I lived, I’d probably want to give them a heads up that this is not generally used as a given name in its country of origin. Not saying you shouldn’t use it, it’s just good to be fully aware. I think as long as it’s not offensive or disrespectful (like Cohen) it’s fair game and I do agree that Miette sounds very sweet.

I think it’ll be hard to find a nature name that balances Miette out, as many come across a little insubstantial. Maybe some names that have nature meanings or in other languages? I don’t know if you were also looking for something more common to your particular location as well though?
