I just posted in the Baby Girl forum, but having a similar conundrum for a second baby boy!
A couple weeks ago I found out I am pregnant with fraternal twins. I still don’t know the sex of the babies so trying to think of a name if it is a second baby boy.
My husband and I have lightly decided on Jacob Louis for a first son (tbh, Jacob is not a name I would ever have picked out, I like it, but it doesn’t feel very me. It is my father-in-laws name and my husband has a “rule” in his family that the first boy in every family have the initials JL (first and middle). He really wants to keep it going and there are literally no J names that I seem to like!
That being said, I want the perfect “me” name for a second son, haha. I love the name Miles and I think my husband also likes it. Would love ideas for a mn (or suggestions for a JL name! I don’t like Jude, Jasper, Julian which seem to be popular names here).
Last name is Irish, three syllables, sounds like “Rafferty”.
Miles John (boring, but John is a family name and I think it sounds nice)
Miles Leon
Miles Hugo (I think is super cute, think husband will veto)
Congratulations!
I love [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_m]Leon[/name_m] from your picks, maybe you can do [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_m]Johnathan[/name_m] or [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] from [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_u]John[/name_u].
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is a good name. I love the idea of keeping the family trend going. Maybe you’ll find another J name you love. If not, [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] works if you’re okay with it.
I love [name_u]Miles[/name_u] though. So handsome. [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_u]John[/name_u] is super nice. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other family names that would work or something we could work around to make a better name? If one boy has a family name, I think the other should too.
[name_u]James[/name_u] - Have you watched [name_m]Derry[/name_m] Girls? Its hilarious and made me love the name [name_u]James[/name_u] which sounded a bit formal or boring to me before. Plus lots of nicknames if you’re into that.
[name_u]Jack[/name_u] - Seems so cool to me and love the nn [name_u]Jackie[/name_u]! Sporty!
[name_m]Jarvis[/name_m] - sounds a bit jarring at first but is memorable/unique but easy to pronounce
[name_u]Miles[/name_u] ideas…
Your ideas are great!
[name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_u]Nolan[/name_u]
[name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]
I agree! [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_u]Jack[/name_u] (John nn Jack) would have been my first choices, but my cousin just had a baby [name_u]James[/name_u], and my brother a baby [name_u]Jack[/name_u]. I know it shouldn’t matter but I stress out about people feeling like I “took” their name…even if both are family names! But [name_u]James[/name_u] is a contender for sure
Found out last week it’s a boy and a girl so no dilemma! We are only 12 weeks but for now it’s likely [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] (maybe Josephine?) & [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m]. If the JL rule wasn’t a thing (or my husbands opinion… it would be [name_f]Rose[/name_f] Helena/Rose [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] and [name_u]Miles[/name_u] John/Miles [name_m]Leon[/name_m].
I like [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_m]Leon[/name_m].
Would [name_u]Miles[/name_u] [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] be less boring to you? [name_u]Or[/name_u] is it too off base?
