Middle name for my daughter

Wonder if I could have your thoughts?

I’m expecting a baby girl and plan to name her [name]Anna[/name]. I’m having a lot of trouble coming up with the perfect middle name to complement it - somehing I love as much as [name]Anna[/name].

I’d really love something either biblical/Hebrew or classic/traditional - maybe English on origin. I wonder if anything springs to mind to complement [name]Anna[/name]?

Names I have considered are:

[name]Carmel[/name] - However my son’s middle name is [name]Caleb[/name] and the fact that this sounds a little similar is not sitting right with me.
[name]Carmen[/name] - ditto
[name]Audrey[/name] - I love the claasic style of this name but am very aware that it doesn’t flow with [name]Anna[/name] - I’d like to avoid another A.
[name]Ruth[/name] - I like it but just don’t love it enough.
[name]Frances[/name] - but this is the name of a close relative that I don’t particularly want to honor. I think I like the feel of this one best, but am not prepared to use it - something that has a similar vibe would be great.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - same issues as [name]Carmel[/name]/[name]Carmen[/name].
[name]Kate[/name] - sounds too similar to [name]Caleb[/name] for my liking!

So - can you help me please?! I need something classic, simple and elegant, or preferably, biblical. I guess I’m also saying, for the purposes of rhythm, nothing ending in ‘a’ or starting with a vowel. I’ll know the right one when I see it!

Thanks so much! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

[name]Anna[/name] [name]Louise[/name]*
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Simone[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Magdalen[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Cecile[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Camille[/name]

On the [name]Frances[/name] issue there are some other similar names that might work.

[name]Anna[/name] [name]Francine[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Francille[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Franca[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Franette[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Francie[/name]

And since you seem to like C names so much but don’t want anything that sounds or looks too much like [name]Caleb[/name] then how about…
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Collette[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Constance[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Cristine[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] Cecille
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Claudette[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Clarissa[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Cynthia[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Clemence[/name]

[name]Love[/name] [name]Anna[/name] [name]Cecile[/name], [name]Anna[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Anna[/name] [name]Claire[/name], [name]Anna[/name] [name]Collette[/name] from above!

What about:
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

I love the name [name]Anna[/name] so much, so I have thought of several middle names for her!

[name]Anna[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Meredith[/name] - love, one of my favorite name combos.
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]

I don’t think [name]Anna[/name] flows well with [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I prefer [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Anne[/name] or [name]Ann[/name].

Thank you all. Some good suggestions to think about. I quite like [name]Anna[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]. [name]Just[/name] out of interest, as [name]Carmen[/name] is still probably my fave of my original ideas, do you think it’s too close to [name]Caleb[/name] for a mn? And what do you think of the name [name]Carmen[/name] generally? Thanks for all your help, keem 'em coming!

Are you actually gonna call her [name]Anna[/name] [name]Carmel[/name] or [name]Carmen[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name]? If not, then what does it matter if it sounds like [name]Caleb[/name]? Most people never hear our middle names.

I’LL TRY [name]Anna[/name] [name]Reese[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Wynn[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Bryce[/name]

I don’t think there’s a problem if your son’s middle name and daughter’s middle name are a little too similar - or have similar sounds such that you wouldn’t want those to be their first names. It is typical to say/see a person’s first and middle together except for things like announcements, graduations, invitations, etc and these things are usually only for one child at a time. [name]Even[/name] if you plan to have your children’s full names proudly displayed, the middle names are not the same or even the masculine and feminine versions of the same name (like [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], for example). I don’t think [name]Caleb[/name] and [name]Carmen[/name] are too similar for the middle names; in fact, other than starting with C they aren’t overly matchy at all imo.

I think [name]Anna[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] has the same sort of feel as [name]Anna[/name] [name]Frances[/name] - do you like it?

I don’t think you should worry too much about your daughter’s middle name being similar to your son’s, unless their first names are also very similar. As another poster said, you use the middle name less than you would think!

As to Biblical mns-- my vote would go to [name]Anna[/name] [name]Miriam[/name].
Good luck!
