Middle name for Nora

I’m due in 3 weeks with a rainbow baby (our #3) and can hardly believe she’s almost here  :rainbow: Help me decide on a middle name!

Her first name is Nora :purple_heart:

For her middle name I want to honor my mom, whose middle name is Lorain (sp variation of Lorraine), but hubby isn’t sold and neither am I. (If we were to use it we would use the traditional spelling.) I love Louise but is that too far removed to be an honor name for Lorain?

Open to other suggestions!! ETA: And my mom’s first name is Vickie which doesn’t fit with our naming style (classic & timeless), but if you can think of anything to connect to it too I’m all ears.

Thank you!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_f]Louise[/name_f]! You both seem to love it so much more than [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]. It’s a lovely name.
[name_f][/name_f]I would also like to suggest [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. Perhaps, [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Veronika[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

I would also like to point out that [name_f]Nora[/name_f] could be inspired by the letters that spell Lorain[name_f][/name_f].

How about…

Nora Rain (from loRAIN)
Nora Rain Louise
Nora Victoria (previously suggested but I love it as well)
Nora Louise Lora (from Lorain)

Congratulations!

Nora is gorgeous :yellow_heart:

I think Lorain is a tricky honour name my immediate thought was maybe Lorena but could be a mouthful with Nora. I think Rain makes a lovely middle name and would honour a Lorain. Also add a modern twist.
Nora Louise Rain!

I’d go with [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and consider them having ‘shared’ initials.

[name_f][/name_f]

A few other ideas could be:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Vivian[/name_f] (VI from Vickie; ian from the end of Lorain)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Lin[/name_f] / [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elin[/name_f] (if you take the letters of [name_f]Lorain[/name_f] (A I O L R N) you can spell [name_f]Nora[/name_f], and it leaves you with [name_f]Lin[/name_f]. You could choose to spell it [name_f]Linn[/name_f], [name_m]Lyn[/name_m], or [name_f]Elin[/name_f] (borrowing the V of Vickie)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] (using the letters of [name_f]Vickie[/name_f] and Lorain)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] (part [name_f]Lorain[/name_f], part Vickie)

Thank you all so much for your suggestions!

I’m really loving the sound of [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Vivian[/name_f] (and my husband likes the sound of it too, yay!) [name_f][/name_f]- I’ll definitely add that one to our short list of options.

I think [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] is so underappreciated!! [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] sounds so beautiful and timeless! [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is such a popular middle name. [name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]!
