Middle name for Nova

I long-ago promised my grandmother I’d name my first daughter after her, which is great because I love her dearly and also love her name–[name]Nova[/name]. But the problem is we can’t seem to find a middle name that’s a good fit. Any suggestions? These are a few we’re tossing around so far, what do you think?

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Caterine[/name] (cat-er-een)
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Violet[/name] - I”m not sure if the proximity of the ”v”s is too much here?
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Lolita[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Dakota[/name] ” a lot of my family live in the Dakotas and I went to school there, but I”m not sure if the rhythm is too much or just right?

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Phillipa[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]

I think [name]Nova[/name] is a really cool name and it’s made even better by the personal meaning it has for you

I particularly like [name]Nova[/name] [name]Caterine[/name], [name]Nova[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Nova[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Nova[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] - those just flow best to me.

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Violet[/name] doesn’t work in my opinion - would you consider two middles so you could use [name]Violet[/name]? Something Like [name]Nova[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Violet[/name]? And [name]Nova[/name] [name]Dakota[/name] does seem a little singsongy to me sorry! Same as [name]Nova[/name] [name]Lolita[/name]. Some of the “a” ending names don’t work at all, but others, like [name]Phillipa[/name] and [name]Cecilia[/name] are ok in my opinion.

Others you may like:

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Rhiannon[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Lillian[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Eugenie[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Georgina[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Lucienne[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Jessamine[/name]

Best of luck!

Sorry for repeats. Had mine written and when I went to post it said someone else had posted already

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Caterine[/name] (cat-er-een) - I like this, but I think this will get confused with [name]Catherine[/name] alot. I really like [name]Nova[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]!

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Violet[/name] - I think the V’s clash a bit. What about [name]Nova[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Nova[/name] [name]Colette[/name], or [name]Nova[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]? (I’m really liking the “let” ending with [name]Nova[/name]!!)

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Lolita[/name] - Here the “OH” sound is the same in both names and too me its too much. [name]Nova[/name] [name]Brigita[/name], [name]Nova[/name] [name]Carlita[/name], [name]Nova[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] - I think this sounds nice, but [name]Beatrix[/name] isn’t a favorite name of mine.

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Dakota[/name] ” I think a rhyme starts to sound too cartoonish. Is there a city or landmark you could use instead?

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name] - nice, but not overly special.
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] - I like this.
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] - the A sort of runs into the E and it makes it a bit difficult to say, but I still like it
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Phillipa[/name] - Here its an issue of the V and PH having a similar sound.
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] - ditto to my [name]Beatrix[/name] comment

Others I thought of:
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Carina[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Augustine[/name]

I originally thought of [name]Nova[/name] [name]Kate[/name], but then realized it sounds like novocaine. Steer clear of that one

OH! I love [name]Nova[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], ljandrl!

And ricamaca, [name]Nova[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] is lovely, and you’re right about the ‘let’ ending, it does sound nice!
I like [name]Nova[/name] [name]Augustine[/name] too, but I think the double ‘a’ doesn’t work the best, which is a shame since I’m quite fond of two family names, [name]Arabella[/name] and [name]Araminta[/name], plus I love [name]Amelia[/name].
I’ve always loved longer names, and luckily [name]Nova[/name] is short enough that having a longer middle name isn’t a mouthful.
I think you’re both right about [name]Dakota[/name] though…sigh…I’ll have to think if there’s a landmark or location there that would work better. Thanks so much for the feedback!

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]

I would probably say to go with a more traditional and longer middle name for a good balance. All the above look and sound great!

Sigh I think you’re right on [name]Nova[/name] [name]Augustine[/name].

I am liking the ending though…[name]How[/name] about these?

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Christine[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Constantine[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Martine[/name]

My favorites of your current ideas:

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name].

I really love [name]Nova[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] especially - it’s got spunk and fire, and plus it sounds really nice. [name]Nova[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] also has a good feel, look and sound to it. By the way, I also really love [name]Nova[/name]… I think it is really gorgeous.

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Ekaterina[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] Ysaline
[name]Nova[/name] Ludmilla
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Ursula[/name]/ [name]Ursuline[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Georgina[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Verity[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Faustine[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Grey[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Marlene[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Io[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Artemis[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Damaris[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Beitris[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Ottoline[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Mathilde[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Ophelie[/name].

I also love love love [name]Nova[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. That gets my vote, hands down.

From your original list:

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Caterine[/name] (cat-er-een) – I like this alot. I don’t see pronunciation problems.
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Violet[/name] – I”m not sure if the proximity of the ”v”s is too much here? – yes, too much. Doesn’t sound good.
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Lolita[/name] – I think a MN ending in an “a” does not work well. Plus I frankly don’t like [name]Lolita[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] – too much quirkiness for me.
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Dakota[/name] ” a lot of my family live in the Dakotas and I went to school there, but I”m not sure if the rhythm is too much or just right? – sorry, this sounds silly.

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Cecelia[/name] – don’t like the “a” ending middle names
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] – I like it.
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] – doens’t flow well
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Phillipa[/name] – agree with the comment that the “v” and “ph” sounds are very similar and it doesn’t work well
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] – my second favorite from your list.

Basically, I think a middle name with 3 syllables that is a little more of a classic girls name works best with [name]Nova[/name].

Thanks for the feedback!

I think you’re all pretty spot on about the ‘a’ endings and ‘a’ beginnings, too bad as some of them are such lovely names! So far the front runners are

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Caterine[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]

I’ve never heard the name [name]Ottoline[/name] before either, and I love it, but I don’t think it goes as well as some of the others with [name]Nova[/name] though. However, I also like the idea of doing two mns, so maybe it will fill it somehow!

I’ll come back with mn suggestions later, but in the meantime I just want to say that I love love love the name [name]Nova[/name]! It’s actually my dog’s name, otherwise it would be at the top of my list for the little bean in my belly! (I just couldn’t wait to use it…sigh).

P.S. We call our pup [name]Nova[/name] [name]Belle[/name] and [name]Nova[/name] Darlin.

Best of luck to you!

If we can vote, I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Nova[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]

I personally love [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], as well as [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f].
