HELP! The little one growing inside me is due to arrive in [name_u]November[/name_u]! My husband and I have decided to call her [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] (His middle name) but we’re in desperate need of a middle name for the baby girl. The three names we’ve come up with are…
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Lake[/name_u]
“[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]” was first thought of to be a nickname for [name_u]Winter[/name_u] but I suppose it works for “[name_f]Ro[/name_f]-[name_u]Win[/name_u]”
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]
She would have Daddy’s middle name upfront and my first name in the middle.
So what do you think? Which works/flows best? Suggestions are welcome and appreciated too!
I like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] best as far as names go… but I hesitate to like it because [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] means “little red haired one” and [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] also means red. Funny. But it’s nice that both names have meaning to you.
You can always nn her [name_u]Red[/name_u] if you decide not to go with [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
Okay when I first glanced at this question my initial thought was [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], so obviously when I saw that you’ve already pondered over [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] I immediately thought this is the right combination. I also love that it’s his middle name and your first name combined to make such a lovely southern (USA) inspired combination. I love the charm of [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f].
So yeah if I was you guys it would be [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] : )
I like the nickname ‘[name_u]Red[/name_u]’ as this combination is inspired completely by the colour.
Wow! I can’t believe I didn’t realize that
If we do decide to go with [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] for her middle name, I like the idea of calling her [name_u]Red[/name_u] because our son’s nickname is “Wolfie.”
Wolfie and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] may be a bit much to scream around the house all day!
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] sounds best with your surname, however I doubt she’ll be known by her full name all the time.
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is one of my favourite names, but couldn’t pick it as my niece who was born the week before, has a similar name. It would have suited my daughter brilliantly though!
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] has the same ending sound as [name_u]Winter[/name_u] has the same beginning (plus “red winter” sounds like something out of Game of Thrones). [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] is very unisex, plus “red lake” sounds pretty creepy to me. And [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] have similar meanings.
I agree about [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], someone else brought the “[name_u]Win[/name_u]-[name_u]Win[/name_u]” combination to my attention too! And like you I think I just want to love it because [name_u]Winter[/name_u]'s such a beautiful word to me… aww well.
I really like your suggestion, the sound is beautiful with our last name but my goddaughter’s name is [name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_u]Sage[/name_u] was mentioned to me earlier and I’m considering it as a rhyming alternative
