My husband and I have fallen in love with the name [name_u]Elia[/name_u]/[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] (Can’t decided on the spelling), but we cannot for the life of us agree on a middle name. I like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]. My husband wants her middle name to be [name_u]Riley[/name_u]. We tried family names but none of them seem to flow very well. Anyone have any suggestions? Our last name is [name_m]Smith[/name_m].
Thank you so much for helping us find the perfect name for little [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]!
I think [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u] both have too much ‘L’ happening to be middle names, sorry! I suggest:
[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] [name_u]Auden[/name_u]
[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] [name_u]Avery[/name_u]
[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] [name_u]November[/name_u]
I prefer the [name_u]Elia[/name_u] spelling, much closer to the original Italian!
I agree with pp on choosing a middle name who has less or no “L” sounds, to better the flow.
I feel that [name_u]Elia[/name_u] needs a feminine middle name, and [name_u]Elia[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is perfect. SO and I have [name_u]Elia[/name_u] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] on our list.
[name_f]Ellia[/name_f] is beautiful. I’d vote for this spelling, because [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is a rising boy name and the pronouncation of Eh-lie-as would make me wonder if [name_u]Elia[/name_u] is Eh-lie-ah.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about some slight tweaks on your faves? [name_f]Ellia[/name_f] is so light and pretty that is needs something with a strong consonant in the middle spot, and with your short surname I’d suggest two-syllables…
I prefer the [name_f]Ellia[/name_f] spelling as it’s much more feminine. [name_f]Ellia[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is gorgeous! The double L sound doesn’t bother me at all.
