Middle name for Ruby?

We’re trying for baby #3 next month so of course I’ve been talking about names with my husband for awhile now. He feels I’m spending to much time on girls names just like I did with our other children who are both girls. He thinks I’m going to jinx our chances for a boy by talking about girls names all of the time. [name]Don[/name]'t worry he does realize it’s up to him whether or not we have a boy or girl. We did however agree on a few girl names with middle names but are stuck finding a middle for [name]Ruby[/name]. HELP! Our last name is Celentano (sell-un-tah-no). Our daughters are [name]Kira[/name] [name]Berlin[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]

The names that we do like are (right now) -

[name]Aly[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Ali[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Leia[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] (lay-uh)
[name]Lea[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] (lee-uh)
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Brook/name
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Brook/name
[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] ??? This is where we/I are drawing a complete blank.

[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Kate[/name] was the first thing that popped into my head
I’ll try to think of a few more when I have time   I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] by the way!

[name]Just[/name] a few off the top of my head

[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]

I adore both [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Alice[/name] … also, I think [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Mae[/name] would be very sweet.

Good luck!

I love your list of names though [name]Ruby[/name] is BY FAR my favorite! And I think it sounds best with your other children’s names, which I also love!
(I would gently suggest that, though, that you take [name]Leah[/name] - or at least the lee-uh pronunciation - off the list since it rhymes with [name]Mia[/name]).
As for middle names:
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]May[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Layne[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] (or [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Kate[/name])
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]

Also, how about :
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Flora[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Fleur[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Fenella[/name].

I love everyone’s suggestions. I wish that I was the only deciding factor but I’m not :frowning:

We both agree on-

[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Lane[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Mae[/name] ([name]Mae[/name] is my grandmother’s middle name.)

I think working with such a long last name limits us to the length/syllables of the middle.
My husband has a total of 26 letters in his whole name!

I adore [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Mae[/name]!

[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Mae[/name] is really cute, but I just wanted to let you know I grew up with a very Italian last name. It was 4 syllables. I had 20 letters in my name and I never, ever thought it was an issue. I had 3 syllable first, 2 syllable middle, 4 syllable last. I thought it was just fine.

ricamaca - I’m glad to know that your long name never bothered you. I guess he’s finicky. Since we have already given our first two shorter names I feel like we will have to do the same for the third. Sometimes I think that coming up with two or three names you love that go together right from the beginning would be the best bet.

So here is the latest name we both agree on. [name]Ruby[/name] Mikio

Mikio is a Japanese name that means “three trees together”.
I feel like I have a spiritual connection with trees and since this would be our third child I thought the meaning fit well. Also Mikio contains the first part of both of our daughters names Mi - [name]Mia[/name] and [name]Ki[/name] - [name]Kira[/name].

What are your thoughts on this combo? [name]Don[/name]'t worry my feelings wont get hurt and we have a looooong time before we need to settle on any one name.

Thanks again for all the ideas. It’s nice to find a group who shares the same obsession.

If I had shown ANY hint of red hair, I was going to be named [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Red[/name]!! LOL - my dad spent the night before I was born getting high with his friends and came up with that one!!!

For previous lists, I liked [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Lane[/name] (sounds like a Beatles song!) and [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] (my fav by far)

I love the sound and meaning of Mikio. I don’t think it flows well at all with [name]Ruby[/name] but then how often will you be saying the 2 together? It’s something I struggle with as I come up with a girl name of my own.

I agree that I like the sentiment of Mikio, but its flow isn’t the greatest with [name]Ruby[/name].

Yeah, the flow of [name]Ruby[/name] Mikio doesn’t work that well for me, but I too love the sentiment.
I love [name]Ruby[/name] with a middle name that starts with an “m” though.
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]

The sounds of “R” and “b” in [name]Ruby[/name] are very strong, and so the “m” sounds softens everything. The long “a” sounds in [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name] are also soft as well.
