[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
So, we’ve pretty much decided on [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] as a first name. For the middle name we wanted to do something to honor my sister, as we are very close. However, her name is [name_f]Amy[/name_f], which doesn’t flow. My sis and I agreed on the possibility of using [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] as a middle name in honor of her since it’s pretty close (Her daughter is [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], middle name for me, even though I’m just [name_f]Beth[/name_f] because she thought it flowed better).
But now that we’re sure we’re having a girl and I keep saying it together I’m not as sure I like the [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] combo all that much.
Anyone have any other [name_f]Amy[/name_f]-like suggestions that might sound better with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]?
The other option is [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is my grandmother, and also my sister’s middle name.
Thanks!
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] came to mind.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is very sweet! I agree [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] doesn’t flow ideally, but it isn’t terrible if you want to go with it. You could do [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and call her [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Mia[/name_f] or [name_f]Mila[/name_f] (to avoid another [name_f]Amy[/name_f]) or even [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Emelia[/name_f] might look better.
I really like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and I honestly think [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is fine. What about [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]?
You could rearrange the letters in “[name_f]Amy[/name_f]” and go with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Mya[/name_f]. Or, you could go with names that share the same meaning as [name_f]Amy[/name_f] (which is “beloved”):
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Davida[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Carita[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Adelpha[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Amadea[/name_f]
My favorite is [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Adelpha[/name_f], and [name_f]Adelpha[/name_f] has the added plus of meaning “beloved sister.”
I looove [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f].
I adore [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]!! I think it sounds lovely. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Amabel[/name_f] could be another possibility.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is sweet but I don’t love the succinct sound. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Clarice[/name_f]?
I absolutely love [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! The flow is beautiful and the names balance and compliment each other perfectly in my opinion!
