Hey there, berries!
I am experiencing major baby name regret with baby #3 & have decided to change her legal first name as it is too similar to brother’s name ([name_f]Mia[/name_f] & [name_u]Miles[/name_u])
We call her [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] (current middle name), and now I am trying to decide which name I like best. This has been really hard as she is my last baby, so I’m mourning all of the names I won’t get to use.
Personality-wise, she is a beautiful go-getter of a wild-child. Dark hair, hazel eyes, lighter complexion. Knows what she wants and goes for it
[name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], Athena, & [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] are also favorites.
Brother and sister both have Shakespearean names, which naturally puts [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] high on the list.
TIA for any input, I do politely request that none of these names are “bashed,” since other berries may like the names too! I would like this to be a positive feedback, because everyone around me has been so negative regarding her name and my decision to change it.
Thanks, A! We have an H last name too, so I think it would be really cute.
Also, love your username. [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is a nod to [name_u]Artemis[/name_u]/Diana, as she was only a 2 hour labor and we made it to the hospital with a perfect birth under a full moon. When I first saw her I thought [name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f] or [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] because of how smitten I was But she is definitely much more fiery & independent
Are you sure she is not an [name_m]Ares[/name_m] then That sounds magical. I can identify with them character traits as I am an [name_u]Aries[/name_u] star sign lol. [name_m]Can[/name_m] I ask what are your other children’s names. You can accent a letter if you want for privacy reasons? Sometimes it’s good to know the sibling names in order to then give an opinion on the potential baby’s name
I love the name [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]! [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is great, but have to warn you there is a character called that in the TV show The Politician ([name_u]Sloan[/name_u] is her last name, and first name is [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]). It’s not a super popular show, but I think it’s worth knowing if you’re considering the name.
I really like [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] from your options!
I love [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is nice too, but it might be an easier transition to have [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] as her first name.
That’s what I was thinking too. If we’re going to change it, we may as well change it to what we’re calling her by. But I do find [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] has a more definite ring to it
I would definitely put [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] as her first name unless you are planning to change what you are calling her. I couldn’t exactly figure this out from the post.
My favorites are [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
Don’t worry, you won’t get any bashing on Nameberry! And oh, I love the name [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]! I’m really glad to see it getting some love on here. Great choice!
Of [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], I prefer [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. I agree that it’s an easier transition if [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is the first name. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is also lovely, but overall I just prefer the name [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. I think the name perfectly suits the wonderful description you’ve given about your daughter.
I also like [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. From your top 4, my favorites are
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] & [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
Of your other favorites, [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] is STUNNING. It’s so elegant. One of the most beautiful names I’ve seen on here! If the renaming was entirely up to me, I’d pick this one. It feels feminine but not frilly, strong but not overpowering, and it’s the perfect length in my opinion. On a side note, katkabet’s suggestion of [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is delightful.
I love love [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]! Of your other combos I like [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] (s), [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u].
She is currently Am3!ia [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. Which was so pretty on paper, but I can’t pronounce the first name. And exactly why we’re changing it. I’m a [name_u]Southern[/name_u] mom, so I consistently use first and middle names with my kids as a form of endearment.
That’s why it doesn’t matter to me what order the name is in as long as it’s beautiful
Naomi and [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] are my top picks! They’re distinct but share an “m” sound with [name_u]Miles[/name_u] as a nice connection. They’re also very nice names!
My daughters name is [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] and she loves it…She goes my [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] mostly but its not a difficult name to pronounce and has lots of nn options apart from [name_f]Mimi[/name_f]. Her middle name is [name_f]Elise[/name_f] but we were thinking of naming my second child [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] with the middle name options of [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] but he was a boy so we didn’t get to use them.
So my top two are [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] but [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is also gorgeous!
