DH and I have recently fallen in love with the name [name]Zoey[/name]. We love the “spunky” feel it has, but can’t think of a middle name that pairs well with [name]Zoey[/name] and our 4 letter, 1 syllable last name (it rhymes with Bone). I’ve always wanted to pass down my middle name, [name]Claire[/name], but I feel as though it sounds too short and abrupt with our last name. Any suggestions on middle names and/or other first names with the same feel would be greatly appreciated!!
Also wondering everyone’s opinions on [name]Zoe[/name] vs. [name]Zoey[/name]. I almost always lean towards traditional spellings, but I think the extra letter would look better with our short last name.
I think [name]Zoey[/name] [name]Claire[/name] sounds good. I’ve always preferred [name]Zoe[/name] to [name]Zoey[/name], but for some reason right now (with your description of it as “spunky”) I am liking the y.
While [name]Zoey[/name] [name]Claire[/name] sounds good, I think [name]Zoey[/name] [name]Claire[/name] Bone is choppy. Also suddenly [name]Zoey[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is sounding like [name]Zo[/name]-eclair to me.
Thank you for pointing the eclair sound! I hadn’t even realized that but you are so right. Of the suggestions listed, I like [name]Simone[/name] the most…but then I realized it rhymes with our last name so that is a definite no. This might be harder than I thought…
I was just going to say I love [name]Zoey[/name] [name]Simone[/name]! (if you are a Ramones fan it rhymes with [name]Joey[/name] [name]Ramone[/name] haha)
I prefer the classic spelling of [name]Zoe[/name]. [name]Zoey[/name] reminds me of [name]Joey[/name] and feels less feminine [name]IMO[/name].
What abour [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Faith[/name]? [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Grace[/name]? [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]?
I really like [name]Zoey[/name], as compared to [name]Zoe[/name]. My name is fairly common, with a slightly unique spelling (an ‘a’ is added to the ‘e’) and even though people always misspell my name the first time, it made me feel unique and special while I was growing up.
I really like [name]Zoey[/name] [name]Simone[/name] too, but obviously you can’t use it, with your last name being what it is. I would suggest trying to find a three syllable middle name to add some length to a great first name and last name.
[name]Zoey[/name] is actually the more popular spelling in the US now, standing at 28 for 2011. [name]Zoe[/name] is currently 31. I prefer the look of [name]Zoey[/name], and agree that it would look better with a short last name.
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Corinne[/name] (sort of the same feeling as [name]Simone[/name] without the rhyming issue)
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Giselle[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name]
Does the rhyming [name]ZO[/name] part of [name]Zoey[/name] bother you? [name]ZOey[/name] BOne has that repetition of the long O. I particularly like [name]Zoey[/name] paired with a consonant like [name]Zoey[/name] [name]Camille[/name], [name]Zoey[/name] [name]Corinne[/name], [name]Zoey[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], etc.
