Hello again!

Apologies in advance for this - you all must be getting rather fed up of me!

We have decided on first names for our second baby. Now we need middle names. We have had several lists going but none of the names we have considered so far are “right”. So, I would love to hear any middle name suggestions you may have. I don’t want bias this by posting our previous list and would just like to hear your first reaction to the sort of names you think fit well in the middle.

hi it might sound a bit big headed becasue it is my name but i think mykelti sound really good in the middle for the girls name i think cara mykelti mathews sound really nice :smiley:

lemon i do like those middles in theory - they’re v pretty - but I just couldn’t imagine giving such a fussy name to an actual person… We do call [name]Sidney[/name] [name]Sid[/name] and they will prob go as [name]Sid[/name] and [name]Al[/name] (but [name]Albie[/name] is cute too - we’ll see!)

I understand the appeal of [name]Helen[/name] as in [name]Cara[/name] [name]Helen[/name] [name]Mathews[/name] too.

[name]Imogen[/name] is a favorite of mine,

I have been trying to remember why [name]Morgan[/name] didnt make it as you could have [name]Albert[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Mathews[/name], and I think it would be a good choice as it is an unexpected choice with [name]Albert[/name] and I think you went down this path with [name]Sidney[/name] because [name]Warren[/name] adds that zest and it is not the traditional path. I lke your style.

mm I do like the idea of [name]Albert[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]… If I add our other boys names as middles (the ones which don’t sound really awkward anyway) to the list we get:

I have been thinking about this all night and I have decided I definitely like [name]Albert[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Mathews[/name] the best from your list. It has great flow, and I think that [name]Morgan[/name] just dresses up the combo so much, I love that you have chosen [name]Morgan[/name] which in my opinion in this combo is a non traditional choice. I think that this is the key reason that I like the combo so much is that it is original, not way out and yet sounds really nice.

Your other two choices are great with [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] winning because I absolutely love [name]Alexander[/name].

I also like the 2-2-2 flow (although I “know” I shouldn’t lol) and my daughter has a 2-2-2-2 name (middle name hyphenated 2-2 so I guess it’s a 2-4-2…)

I like [name]Cara[/name] [name]Helen[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] but what about [name]Cara[/name] [name]Helene[/name] (he-leen)? I think since the "a"s in [name]Cara[/name] have the same sound, and the "e"s in [name]Helen[/name] have the same sound, switching it to [name]Helene[/name] sounds better. Does that make sense? A little more variety among the vowel sounds.

I prefer [name]Cara[/name] [name]Elaine[/name] to [name]Cara[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name].

I have no innate sense of how to say [name]Imogen[/name]. Although I’ve learned how to say it since joining this site, it is still one of those names that I hesitate for a sec whenever I say it. I mean, it’s Im-ah-gin, right? Not Eye-[name]Mo[/name]-[name]Gen[/name] (which is what I WANT to say even though I know it’s wrong)

Okay, so you’re looking for something fairly down-to-earth, classic, quirky, but not at all flouncy, right? Well, then I think both [name]Cara[/name] [name]Helen[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] and [name]Cara[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] fit the bill. I’m more inclined to use [name]Cara[/name] [name]Helen[/name], myself, simply because I don’t usually care for a vowel name ([name]Imogen[/name]) following a name ending in a vowel ([name]Cara[/name]) - [name]Cara[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] isn’t bad, though. I had just a couple more thoughts for you, sticking with your desired 2-2-2 pattern:

I think finding a name that meets your criteria in a longer form might be difficult, which is fine since you like the 2-2-2 flow so well. I’m usually not a fan, but my own name is a 2-2-2, as is my mother’s, and both sound fine - if you have the right combination, the name will work! The only long name that appeals to me for you is [name]Cara[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Matthews[/name], honestly. It’s feminine but very no-nonsense at the same time.

As for your boy names, I like [name]Albert[/name] with [name]Sidney[/name] very much - I know I already told you how much I like [name]Albie[/name] and [name]Sid[/name]! - but [name]Morgan[/name] is near-perfect with [name]Sidney[/name], being as both are surnames that have crossed over to the girl side. Time to bring 'em back to the gents, right? Actually, the last [name]Morgan[/name] I met was a guy! With [name]Albert[/name] I think something more modern like [name]Rowan[/name] or [name]Morgan[/name] would be nice, it kinda updates [name]Albert[/name] in a way. I still love [name]Morgan[/name] with [name]Sidney[/name] though. Maybe you should save [name]Morgan[/name] for #3 just in case? [name]Sidney[/name], [name]Albert[/name], and [name]Morgan[/name] would be lovely.
