Each of my four kids have a Scandinavian first name and an artists middle name. We are currently expecting our fifth (and last) baby. She is due in [name_u]August[/name_u].
Our girls are
[name_m]Swede[/name_m] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] (yes we made up the first name but it sounds nice and Swedish;)
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Sisley[/name_f] (like [name_f]Cicely[/name_f] but an artists name)
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] Cezanne
And our boy is
[name_m]Viggo[/name_m] [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] (his middle is a family name and an artists name)
So, our fourth girl has been the hardest to name. I’ve always wanted a daughter with the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] but finding a Scandinavian name with that NN hasn’t panned out.
BUT, I did find an artists name with that nickname— [name_u]Winslow[/name_u]. And I kinda love it:)
After a lot of thinking we decided to move her artist name to the first name and now we’re having a hard time finding a perfect middle name.
Ideally it’d be feminine to balance out the [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] and it would be Scandinavian to fit in with our sibset. But I can’t find anything that I love.
My husband doesn’t love anything that’s too plain like [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] etc. He would like something more interesting.
We both like the sound of [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] [name_u]Matisse[/name_u] but that’s two artists names and not very feminine for a middle. But it sounds good!
The Swedish version of [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Elisabet[/name_f]) got a lukewarm response from the hubby. But no other Scandinavian names seem to be standouts for us. Hubby liked [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] but it doesn’t flow super great to my ear. I liked the idea of [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] or [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] but hubby doesn’t love those. I’d like for the middle to flow well with both her given name [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] and her nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f].
Any ideas for me??
