Well, we were all set with [name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Sophie[/name], but I’ve been having a lot of misgivings because my sister’s fiance is dead set on using [name]Sophia[/name] for their first daughter for a lot of personal reasons, and I just don’t want to ruffle any feathers over something as minor as a middle name.
So, now I’m looking for some new suggestions for [name]Magdalene[/name]'s middle name. DH has already vetoed [name]Amelie[/name], [name]Joanna[/name]/e, and [name]Rosalie[/name]. My current fave is [name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Sanne[/name] because [name]Sanne[/name] is a name I’ve loved for years but DH won’t let me use it as a first name. I haven’t told him yet because I don’t want to hear the dream crushed out loud.
Any other suggestions? I feel like [name]Magdalene[/name] needs something lighter in the middle since it’s kind of a long clunky name. Our DD is [name]Juliette[/name] [name]Noelle[/name].
Oh, [name]Juliette[/name] and [name]Magdalene[/name] are great names for sisters! I agree, [name]Magdalene[/name] needs something light in the middle, and also something … not popular, perhaps familiar is the word I’m looking for? Along the lines of [name]Sophie[/name], actually. It’s difficult, because a lot of softer names have prominent L sounds, which are quite hard to say with [name]Magdalene[/name] - I’m thinking along the lines of [name]Lily[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Molly[/name], [name]Sally[/name].
[name]How[/name] about :
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Alice[/name] - I don’t know why this works better than the names listed above; perhaps it’s the vowel beginning?
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Elsa[/name] - ditto [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Esme[/name]
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Rosa[/name] - I know he’s vetoed [name]Rosalie[/name], but perhaps?
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Vera[/name].
I like [name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Sanne[/name], by the way. It goes against my trail of thought in finding something familiar, but it is a lovely name and you would love it forever because you were able to still use it! I think she would someday appreciate the meaning/thought behind it, too.
