I think it’s cute that you’re due in [name]May[/name] and want to name your daughter [name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name]. To me, it’d just be a cute, interesting story to tell everyone about her.
I have a MaeLeigh in my extended family and she was born at the end of [name]April[/name], go figure, lol.
[name]One[/name] of my favorite combinations is [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name] or [name]Eliza[/name] [name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name].
[name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name] (though I slightly prefer [name]May[/name]) is a beautiful, fun choice, and it shouldn’t matter when the baby is born to choose the name. If you love it, use it, and in this case, it honours family too - bonus! As previously said, [name]May[/name] isn’t even a name because of the month (if that makes sense) so go for it. Good luck - [name]Elowen[/name] [name]May[/name] is just lovely, and [name]Isla[/name] [name]May[/name] or [name]Elise[/name] [name]May[/name] would be just as nice, if not as good rhythm wise.
I don’t think it’s an issue. We named our daughter [name]Savannah[/name] [name]May[/name], and she was born in [name]April[/name]. I feel like [name]May[/name] is a common enough name that you could really use it in any month. I know a few people who have started spelling it [name]Mae[/name], and while I do like it, I’m big on spelling everything correctly. I don’t know why!
We’re in the same boat, baby due [name]June[/name] 3rd and we want to go for first name [name]Mae[/name], it was my grandmother’s middle name. I think it’s fine spelled [name]May[/name] for a middle. As a first I feel more comfortable with [name]Mae[/name] but that’s how my grandmother spelled it.
I don’t think it’s too cheesy! I love the [name]Mae[/name] spelling and think it would be a great way to honor your husband’s grandmother while distancing the name from the month of [name]May[/name].
[name]May[/name] is the one month name that I think works whenever. It makes the most sense to use [name]May[/name] in the month of [name]May[/name] though. I don’t think it is cheesy, I think it is cute.
Keep the [name]May[/name] spelling since it is to honour someone.
It is a nicknamey name, right? So I don’t think it really matters what month it is.
My friend [name]April[/name] was born in [name]April[/name]. However, I knew a girl in high school named [name]April[/name] who was born in [name]March[/name]! That always puzzled me.
I suppose she might have been due in [name]April[/name]…
I love the name [name]August[/name] for a boy, but can’t see myself using it, since I am due in [name]November[/name]!
Middle name [name]May[/name] goes with almost anything. You could go with [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Mavis[/name] or [name]Mabel[/name], instead, but I think you should stick with [name]May[/name].
