[name_m]Way[/name_m] back when we first started talking names, I loved the combo of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Morgana[/name_f]. I still like it, but I don’t know… I’m just not really feeling it anymore, and my husband was never the hugest fan of it either. So, what else would you suggest as a middle name? We like “unexpected” names in the middle. It doesn’t have to be super obscure; just something you would be pleasantly surprised to hear in the middle that spices up a rather popular, traditional name like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. (So no [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f], etc.) Here’s some combos I’m currently considering:
I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f], it’s really pretty and it flows well. I also think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] is really nice.
@megan_margaret: [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] are great! I also love [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], but we already used [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] for our daughter’s middle name. Thanks!
@lovemysweeties: I actually prefer [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] over [name_f]Vespera[/name_f], too, but [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] seems so…word-y compared to our usual style, which I admit is kind of silly to say when I’m fine with [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. I don’t know! But I’ll put [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] back on the list anyway, along with [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] (maybe [name_f]Viviana[/name_f], too?), [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], and [name_f]Verity[/name_f]. (More word names! I guess they appeal to me when paired with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].) Thank you.
@boyandgirl: Oh, [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is one of my favorites! I just rarely think of her as a middle name for some reason. She does sound good with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], though, and would allow us to keep the “ph” theme we started with the girls’ middle names (but are no longer set on). Thanks.
@lawsonhaley: Heh, [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is actually the other name we’re seriously considering. I guess we could just put them together! I also like your suggestions of [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], too, but I think it sounds too similar to [name_f]Cate[/name_f]'s middle name [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], which I know would bug me. (In fact, [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] was the runner-up choice.) Thanks!
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] is a beautiful combo! It feels striking, magical and memorable. I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] too- I prefer [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] as a name in general, but [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] makes more of an impact with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] to me.
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], and was going to suggest [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] myself!
What about:
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] (similar to [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], and has the “ph”)
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Valencia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Venetia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Miranda[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Victoire[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Selene[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Fiammetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Lenore[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Gwyneira[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
@bonfireazalea: Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions! [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] would be a great choice because my husband and I actually met on [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]'s [name_u]Day[/name_u]. Though [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] is not normally a name I love, I actually find it rather striking paired with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and I think DH will like it because he really likes [name_u]Francis[/name_u]. I also like [name_f]Carys[/name_f], [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f], [name_f]Victoire[/name_f], and [name_f]Gwyneira[/name_f].
@luneth: I’m adding [name_f]Soleil[/name_f], [name_f]Raphaela[/name_f], [name_f]Mattea[/name_f], and [name_f]Corisande[/name_f] to the list. Thanks!
@sbw: Thank you for your opinions. Your daughter’s name is gorgeous!
@elise12: I’m glad you like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]! [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is another name I love, but I’m not really feeling it with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Maybe because of the -beth/-be endings? Thank you, though!
@julesnamingyou: Thank you! I really like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f].
You guys have really helped come up me come up with a great list to talk over with my husband!
