I’ve loved [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] for AGES–she’s perfect!–and the nn Cici to boot, but oh, how I have troubles finding a single middle name I’d want to use for her. Anyone feel like trying?
I’m giving her a shot as I have two ideas that are ruminating that I actually don’t hate (might even love, shockingly!), so I’m wondering if this might be the shot to give [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] a spot on my list. The two combos I’ve been liking are [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] Esmée and (to a slightly lesser degree) [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]. Maybe something along these lines?
Eventually I’ll add a second middle to honor family, but I’m just looking for that first middle right now to get me out of my [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] slump, so if you could stick to one-mn suggestions, I would appreciate it!
@jonquils - I [name_f]DO[/name_f] adore [name_f]Odette[/name_f], and I like [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f] more than I expected to! [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is also lovely, but doesn’t feel as special as [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] Esmée or [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f], to me. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] was my grandmother’s name, so I was actually considering [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] Esmée [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]! I’m glad you like it with [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]. And [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is my middle name? I’m not terribly keen on it, but yeah, lol. I sponsor a little girl named [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but no family members named [name_f]Maria[/name_f] directly.

I do however, really love [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Niamh[/name_f]! I think I’ve seen it on someone else’s list on Nameberry, but I love it a lot and like that it could honor my Irish heritage. Not sure what I’d do for a second middle, though, as most of my family names are uber short. @sulpice - You’re quite alright, because I like a few of these! [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] Wildflower intrigues me a ton, and I actually really like her, but probably wouldn’t commit to such an over-the-top (or at least, for me!) word name even in the middle. [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is so sweet, if I could find a family name to go between [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f] that I actually liked. But the real treasure is [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f]–I really love her! She is officially on the list, and I might even add [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Yseult[/name_f], too, which [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] reminds me of.
My first thought was [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], but [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] is definitely more unusual. I think a nature name could be nice too-- [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Feather[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] Twilight, [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] are ones I think work well. Since it means blind, I really like the [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] imagery.
From your list I like the most [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]. Although Croatian language (I see it in your signature) strongly drives me to use versions [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] or [name_f]Magda[/name_f].
@davisellu - Thanks for the ideas! I do like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] but unfortunately [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] doesn’t do it for me. I do like the occasional word name, but unfortunately those aren’t for me. Someone else suggested [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] Wildflower, which I think is gorgeous, but I’m not brave enough to go that far out there. I would maybe consider [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Posy[/name_f] or something like that, though!
@beyla - Thank you for your ideas! Unfortunately, I’m not necessarily going for a Croatian theme–my themed signatures can be quite deceptive sometimes! I’m doing a series of signatures inspired by footballers (erm, soccer players?) from around the world, and I’ve just stopped over in Croatia just now. I don’t have a bit of Croatian blood in me, but I am appreciating Croatian names just now! I do like [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] and [name_f]Magda[/name_f], but I admit that [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] is my favorite form of the name today.
And I think I’m just down to [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] Esmée! I really love [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f], and liked the idea of [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f], but it didn’t connect with me like [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] Esmée has, and I liked a lot of the other combos, but none of them resonated with me quite so much as [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] Esmée has. I’m going to hold onto her for a bit, see if she settles as a solid favorite, and then commence with second MN options, I think. Thanks for all your help, Berries!
