Thank you to soooo many of you who have helped post suggestions for girls names to go with my two sons - - [name]James[/name] & [name]Noah[/name].
Though we were somewhat looking for a more unique yet classic name, my husband and I just keep coming back to these two names: [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name]. Undecided on which one to use (and hesitate to use both as first and middle name in case we have another girl down the road…
But would love some help with middle names for both of these. Our last name is [name]Anderson[/name].
[name]Both[/name] names are beautiful, but I would vote for [name]Abigail[/name]. I think [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] has a great sound to it, crisp and clean but pretty.
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] just somehow doesn’t sound right. The names sort of run into each other (and while a middle name could help, I think it’s important for a first and last without the middle to sound as good as the full name, because the middle will often be omitted).
I think [name]Claire[/name] is a gorgeous name! I’m not that much of a fan of [name]Abigail[/name]-- it just doesn’t have an appealing sound, and it seems too popular.
[name]Abigail[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] (a bit B heavy, though)
[name]Abigail[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name] [name]Hope[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] (although [name]Jane[/name] and the beginning of [name]Anderson[/name] are kind of close)
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] (The back-to-back A’s in the middle and last name create an awkward flow to me, though)
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name]/[name]Isabel[/name] [name]Anderson[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] (in case the back-to-back vowel issue doesn’t bother you)
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] (ditto)
I love the name [name]Claire[/name]! It is classic, sophisticated, and not trendy.
I am biased because my husband and I just decided to name our baby girl [name]Claire[/name] We decided on [name]Claire[/name] [name]Madeline[/name].
We also considered:
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Harper[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
Great suggestions. Here’s my favorites that were listed:
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elise[/name] … like the “E” mn’s!
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] (also made me think of [name]Eliza[/name]… think I like [name]Eliza[/name] a little more)
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
Still struggling with [name]Abigail[/name]. None of them are really standing out right now. [name]Feel[/name] like I’m preferring [name]Claire[/name], but my husband prefers [name]Abby[/name]… so maybe once I see the right mn for [name]Abby[/name], it’ll be more appealing? Could go the route of family mn’s, too… we have [name]Sharon[/name], [name]Barbara[/name], [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Mabel[/name], [name]Judy[/name], [name]Mildred[/name] ([name]Millie[/name]), [name]Carol[/name], [name]Sara[/name], [name]Suzanne[/name], [name]Leslie[/name]…
My [name]Claire[/name]'s middle name is [name]Elise[/name]. I love it. [name]Abigail[/name] is cute, and we considered it for our second daughter. But it’s really popular where we live. I don’t run into nearly as many Claires. Good luck!
Maybe something relating to her due date, place of birth or her parents life which would be special in the middle.

I have no idea what your style is so I’m a bit stuck on suggesting specific names but I will check back later if you have any criteria/ideas/inspiration for me to work with.

Personally I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Abigail[/name]! I am a huge fan of girl names with history behind them, and I’m not sure you can get a better history than [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Adams[/name].
All suggestions I would have had have already been listed, except for [name]Abigail[/name] [name]Eve[/name]! [name]Love[/name] how this one sounds and since [name]Evelyn[/name] is a family name that’s another bonus
