Middle names for evil uncles etc

Well, not all of them are evil, and also one of them is a father and one is an aunt. They still need middle names though! Here are some descriptions I wrote for them a while back:

Oswald Eldritch: The eldest, the manor’s owner, and Alistair’s father [Alistair is the main character]
Olivier Eldritch: One of the uncles who wants to kill Oswald and Alistair. Also the one who suits the surname best, since he’s a Mage, a little-known fact that will greatly aid him
Orson Eldritch: One of the few nice ones, an altogether jovial fellow who rather likes Alistair and does not support the coup
Orlando Eldritch: A stern man who acts as a surrogate father to Alistair when Oswald is called away for work, due to being Oswald’s favorite of his brothers
Omar Eldritch: Oily and insincere. In support of the coup but lacking the brains for follow-through. Father of Basill, a cruel boy much more capable than his father who the coup plotters plan to have inherit the manor
Owen Eldritch: The other nice uncle, who is quiet and nervous and spends most of his time in the library. Always willing to offer helpful advice. Has young twins called Esme and Freya, and is a twin himself, to Omar
Osbourne Eldritch: The second coup plotter, who has always been envious of Oswald and is bitter that his diminutive birth order should place him second-to-last in the line of inheritance
Octavia a Nieva: The youngest child and sole daughter of Oskar and Oraline Eldritch, as well as the mother of Noeleia a Nieva. She seemingly lives in a state of perpetual wide-eyed confusion (emphasis on seemingly)

There are also a few other characters in the story who need middle names, these being Alistair Eldritch, Cosima del Vera, Eleonore del Vera, Noeleia a Nieva, Esme and Freya Something-Eldritch, Owen’s wife (needs a full name), Noe’s father (also needs a full name), and Oskar and Oraline Eldritch, the grandparents. Yes, I know that the Uncles’ names have very little in common other than all starting with O, but it’s really difficult to come up with eight boy names in a row that all start with the same unusual letter. Basill doesn’t need a middle name, because it’s Magnus. It’s also pronounced BAY-sill, like my other Basil, but this one has two Ls for some reason. Differentiation, possibly.

There’s a heck of a lot of this! Thank you all so much for helping. I’d love it if the Uncles’ middle names were in a similar style, to tie the first names together, but they definitely don’t have to all start with the same letter. Alistair’s middle name should ideally start with O, but it doesn’t have to. Eleonore is pronounced eh-LAY-oh-noor, the way I believe it’s supposed to, but I didn’t know that until I checked, so I’m specifying it here.

Oh, and one more quick thing!

TYSM!!!

How about…
(following Ancient Roman or Italian pattern, with some Shakespeare allusions thrown in)
Oswald Martius Eldritch, Oswald Julius Eldritch or Oswald Eleuterio Eldritch (the main character of Coriolanus (Caius Martius Coriolanus) or a son of Titus Andronicus, conspired against, meaning free)
Olivier Claudius Eldritch or Olivier Prospero Eldritch (evil relatives in Shakespeare plays)
Orson Lucius Eldritch or Orson Feste Eldritch (referencing the surviving son of Titus Andronicus or the jester in Twelfth Night)
Orlando Aufidius Eldritch, Orlando Domenico Eldritch or Orlando Jaques Eldritch (referencing Aufidius’ hospitality toward the titular character in Coriolanus, his role as a father figure, or Jaques being Orlando’s favorite brother in As You Like It)
Omar Veturius Eldritch, Omar Demetrius Eldritch, Omar Brutus Eldritch, Omar Metellus Eldritch or Omar Innocenzo Eldritch (mother of Coriolanus known for encouraging his violent tendencies, rapist goth in Titus Andronicus, conspirator in Julius Caesar, brother to Publius in Julius Caesar, simply ironic) (I would also like to point out that perhaps having the only character with an Arabic name being ‘oily & insincere’ may come off as racist)
Owen Publius Eldritch, Owen Flavius Eldritch or Owen Liborio Eldritch (banished brother in Julius Caesar, meaning golden, meaning free
Osbourne Cassius Eldritch or Osbourne Emilio Eldritch (Brutus’ fellow conspirator, meaning rival)
Octavia Lavinia a Nieva or Octavia Petronella a Nieva (tragic daughter of Titus Andronicus, “little stone”)

Alistair Olivio Eldritch, Alistair Ovidius Eldritch or Alistair Orsino Eldritch (Olivia & Orsino being main characters in Twelfth Night and Ovid being a famous Roman poet)
Cosima Artemisia del Vera or Cosima Hyacinth del Vera
Eleonore Apollonia del Vera or Eleonore Larkspur del Vera
Noeleia Beatrice a Nieva (pron. bay-ah-TREE-chay)
Esme Helen Hudson-Eldritch
Freya Clementine Hudson-Eldritch

Oskar Titus Eldritch & Oraline Creusa Eldritch

just some ideas!

Edit: forgot some people
Veronica Ashley Hudson
Ander Valentin a Nieva

Whoa, that’s super in-depth and awesome! What you said about [name_m]Omar[/name_m] makes a lot of sense, thank you so much, I’ll change that. I was only thinking about the first letter of the names when I named them, not even if it fit the character, just writing the descriptions and putting the first names I could find next to them  I’m usually much more methodical than that. I was so sick of O names by the end that [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] was [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] for several days until I realized that she’s literally the eight child. All of your suggestions tie together super nicely and the Roman/Shakespeare connections are incredible. I wasn’t sure if you intended for [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] to tie back to the sisters in Greek mythology, but they do in my head, so that’s wonderful. [name_f]Artemisia[/name_f] and [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f] for the del [name_f]Vera[/name_f] sisters is stunning. I’m actually about to start doing The Winter’s Tale right now and I’m doing an audition piece from Twelfth [name_m]Night[/name_m], so I’m very pleased by the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]. I even already have a character who’s bay-ah-TREE-chay! This is fabulous.

I’m glad my suggestions were of help! [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] were, in fact referencing [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and Clytemnstra, so I’m glad you saw that! [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] has been an interest of mine for a while now, so I’m always excited to talk about his works in any capacity!

This is just a rough draft, but I like it a lot so far. Thank you so so much! All of the names have such strong central themes that it might get a little confusing, but I also really like them.

Yes! I also love a strong central theme, and I’m happy to help!

I love [name_f]Perdita[/name_f] for Octavia; not only is it both [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m], but the meaning of ‘lot’ fits what I know of her perfectly. I like [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] making his father’s name his son’s middle name, too.

I think [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] is a good choice, and spelling it with a k rather than a c makes it just a little harsher, which is good for a harsh character.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] the names!
