Recently, I’ve fallen in love with the name [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] after discovering that one of my favourite historical figures had it as a middle name. However, the only middle that seems to flow well with it is [name_f]Amalia[/name_f].
[name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] sounds very much like a name for a princess to me. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have ideas for some names that flow well with [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] yet give the name a more laid-back vibe?
I’m not naming an actual child so it’s all fun and games. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to share suggestions!
There actually was a [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] of Denmark! [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous, though.
I love the idea of [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] & [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] as sisters!
[name_f]Frederica[/name_f] & [name_f]Elfrida[/name_f] or [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] & [name_f]Emerence[/name_f] also sound beautiful together! Ideal for royal characters.
From your middle name list, I like
[name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]
[name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
the best - they have amazing flow and sound elegant but much “lighter” than [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f].
Frederica [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f], [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Idalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are my favourite from the “elegant but not heavy-sounding” category. - idk why, I just find [name_f]Idalia[/name_f] way less formal somehow.
But HOW CUTE is [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]!
Such an energetic and spunky combo, I love how much more “casual” the name feels when [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] is added.
@Posielee [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Zari[/name_f] is so interesting! I’ve never heard of the name [name_f]Zari[/name_f] before, so thanks for introducing me to it. I also love [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Danielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f] from your list.
Amada feels like a less posh alternative to [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] here - sometimes a smalll change is the best one.
@futuremama [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u] feels much like [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] to me! I imagine a very active and rebellious little girl raised in a rich family.
And also there’s a super cute possibility of calling her [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_u]Scout[/name_u] if she prefers a more unisex name or turns out to be a tomboy!
@Greyblue [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] are my favourite suggestions from you - [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] still feel like princess/upper-class names without sounding as frilly as [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f] are a close second, word names just don’t seem as good-fitting to the name as “regular” ones.
Thanks for your input everyone! I try to acknowledge every reply. I’m new to namberry, so I might be a little annoying but I’m really grateful that you are willing to share your creativity with me! I’ll definitetely be adding some of those to my list for future characters.
@marylavender [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_u]Jules[/name_u] makes for a perfect feminine-but not frilly option. [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_u]Jules[/name_u]/Rica [name_u]Jules[/name_u] are super cute nicknems!
I love [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] from your other options, but my favourite has to be [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Maelys[/name_f]! Beautiful, and delicate combo. [name_f]Maelys[/name_f] goes to my ever-lengthening list of favourite [name_u]French[/name_u] names.
@anon25197097 [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_u]Maven[/name_u], [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] and [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_u]Ami[/name_u] are my favourites - especially the last one, becaue I love short and sweet names paired with more elaborate ones. Plus, you proved to me that I have yet to find a non-word girl name that does not flow well with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as a middle
Are you pronouncing it [name_m]Fred[/name_m]-erica or fred-er-reek-a? Or any other way? I also really like this name pronounced either way love [name_u]Freddie[/name_u], [name_f]Erika[/name_f] or [name_f]Rikka[/name_f] (ree-ka) as nicknames
Pronounced the first way
[name_m]Fred[/name_m]-[name_f]Erica[/name_f]
