recently i’ve been in love with lavender. it’s whimsical and grounded, beautiful and feminine, without sounding too frilly. the character in matilda also gives her a bookish, sweet vibe, which i adore in a name.
i’m a little stuck however, on finding a perfect middle name that compliments lavender. i was thinking something short and spunky, but i love rarer vintage names too. all i’ve thought of is lavender bea, and though i love it, it just doesn’t feel quite right.
i would love to hear any and all suggestions you have.
come to think of it, i dont think i’ve ever made a combo with lavender as a fn that i love!
lavender eloisa (the -loisa part prn like the character in encanto)
lavender mabel
lavender juliet
lavender honey (could be cute if it didn’t sound like a lavender coloured honey haha)
lavender ruth
lavender remi
lavender marie (basic but i think it sounds good)
lavender annabel / amabel
lavender cosette
lavender lane
lavender lavinia
lavender phoebe
lavender poet
This one is tough. I think [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] is light and feminine and pairs well with something more feminine, unisex or something that conjures imagery all equally well. And frankly I’ve never thought of it! So my first impressions….
Sort of more straight forward I’d think something like [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] but I know that [name_u]Marie[/name_u] is super common. [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] Maeve/Frances/Hope/Eloise etc
You could also go in a direction that conjures imagery like [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f], or [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_u]Snow[/name_u].
I think the other thought would be just something you love even if it’s unisex or a little more unique- like [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Athena[/name_f].
Finally- do you love a nickname that doesn’t quite flow from [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]? You could work it in by making it the middle.
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is cute! [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] or [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] Olivia/Olive.
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is on my own list, but I don’t love the sound of [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] so much, and [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] seems a bit too standard.
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Gail[/name_f], and [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] are my favorites from the suggestions so far!
I think I like something a little tough-feeling with gentle [name_f]Lavender[/name_f].
I first thought of [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]! I also adore the suggestions of [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] from previous posters. [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is also lovely.

[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_u]Florence[/name_u]
[name_f]Phebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_u]Laurie[/name_u]
[name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]

[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amy[/name_f] (because I’ve noticed that I already suggested [name_u]Jo[/name_u], [name_f]Beth[/name_f], and [name_f]Meg[/name_f], and [name_f]Amy[/name_f] works beautifully as well!! )
Oh my goodness [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] is adorable!
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is very sweet and you’ve had a few suggestions from the berries so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries
@krijesnica lavender tess and lavender una are lovely! i think they definitely make lavender feel more spunky. thank you!
@decembersmoon i actually quite like lavender honey… even though it sounds like it would taste really good! haha! lavender mabel and lavender juliet are gorgeous options too.
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_u]Joan[/name_u] is what came to mind, like [name_u]Joan[/name_u] [name_u]Rivers[/name_u] or [name_u]Joan[/name_u] of arc pronunciation
