My husband and I are still trying to figure out a name for our little guy. He really likes the name [name]Paul[/name] (I like the name too, but I don’t like it as much as my name). I can’t figure out a middle name though. I like the idea of having some sort of family name or name that means something to us, but don’t think that’s gonna happen. [name]Paul[/name] is such a good middle name, so I think it’s hard to find something that goes well with it when it’s a first name.
The name I like is [name]Solomon[/name]…then [name]Paul[/name] as the middle name. Hubby is being stubborn though and wants [name]Paul[/name] as the first name. Argh!
Well, I’m biased as my oldest son’s name is [name]Paul[/name] and I love it. It such a warm manly classic. People generally seem to have positive associations with it and he hasn’t had any other [name]Paul[/name]'s in his schools. His middle name is [name]Stephen[/name].
I like longer names for first names with short middles, so [name]Solomon[/name] [name]Paul[/name] to me is better than the reverse. Anyway, suggestions:
It would be easier for me if I had more info, FYI, like a surname. [name]Paul[/name] [name]Benedict[/name] Crusoe is awesome. [name]Paul[/name] [name]Benedict[/name] [name]Milton[/name] is stuffy!
I love the name [name]Paul[/name], partly because it is my dad’s name… his middle name is [name]Nicholas[/name]… my uncle’s name is [name]Paul[/name] [name]Aaron[/name] (my mom’s brother!). I think [name]Paul[/name] [name]Nicholas[/name] and [name]Paul[/name] [name]Aaron[/name] are both fantastic…
My last name is very complicated! Haha…Mlynczyk Pronounced [name]Mil[/name]-in-check when you try to break it down. Also because of the no vowels thing we like to get a lot of vowels in the other names, haha!!
[name]Aaron[/name] is my brother’s name, so while it does sound good with [name]Paul[/name] I don’t want to feel like I am naming my son after my brother. I was thinking about suggesting my Dad’s name for the middle name since I am close with my dad. His name is [name]Brian[/name]…[name]Paul[/name] [name]Brian[/name].
A complicated last name is another great reason for picking a one-sylable first names. I have 4 kids and didn’t do any family names for the first 3 but did for baby number four both her first and middle names. I’m really glad I did and while I love my other kids names I wished I had tried for more family connection. So I say go for [name]Paul[/name] [name]Brian[/name]!
