Both hubby and I have fallen in love with the name [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] if bubs is a girl.
For middle names we’d like to give her two as our son has two as well. I’d really like one of them to be [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] after my grandmother, but worry that that would make her name too long. What do you think?
If it is too long we’d at least like one of the middle names to be [name_m]French[/name_m].
We were thinking along the lines of
[name_f]Valencia[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Valencia[/name_f] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
Thoughts on these combinations? And any other suggestions welcome
Oh and our last name is three syllables and starts with a K
I really like these for the first middle:
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] and [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f]. [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] is even better! So pretty
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] it helps! I tried to include lots of [name_m]French[/name_m] names in there just in case. Most of these combos would be really pretty with the middles flipped, as well, imo =]
It may be longer than usual but I think flow, sound and meaning or significance are what really matters and as long as those things work I generally love two middles in a baby name. ”
I like [name_m]Fox[/name_m] slightly better than [name_f]Fern[/name_f] in this case, in between the two other names, because it gives a bit of modern contrast with the vintage aura of [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] & [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f].
Have you considered [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] since that’s the [name_m]French[/name_m] meaning for [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]? Or the related and oh-so-glamorous [name_f]Margaux[/name_f]/Margeaux/[name_f]Margot[/name_f]?
Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions!
So far we’re really liking [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Dawn[/name_f], [name_f]Belle[/name_f], [name_f]Faye[/name_f] and [name_f]Raine[/name_f] from the suggestions. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think they sound better in the first on second middle name spot?
We have considered [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and are still, although we do prefer [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] if we can find a combo that works with it. We also prefer both [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] to [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].
My first thought was [name_f]Faye[/name_f] (of course), there’s something about [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]/[name_f]Fae[/name_f] which is so magical, although I’m very biased. I think a 1 syllable nature/whimsical name really works with [name_f]Valencia[/name_f]. In terms of flow, as a general rule I tend to say have the 1 syllable mn as the 2nd one if the surname is more than 1 syllable and have it as the first if the surname is 1 syllable. So [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] 2nd mn K---- if you decide on a one syllable middle. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] that makes sense! [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous and such a wonderful meaning too.
I am loving [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]! I like the flow of the one syllable middle name between [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] and [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. It breaks up the weight of [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] and [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] and gives the name a nice pinch of quirkiness.
I’m so glad you’re finding names you like! I think the names would go great in either spot.
If I had to choose one, I would have to say that since you (I think) will hardly ever call her by her full name + last name, I would go with a one-syllable in the first spot, and [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] in the second.
So I would switch [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] in that one combo to [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f], instead.
