Middle names/ thoughts on Esther

I’m loving the name Esther!! I’m a [name_u]Christian[/name_u] and [name_f]Esther[/name_f] in the Bible is such a strong female character that I would love to name own daughter after! [name_f]Esther[/name_f] has a strong and beautiful sound to me!

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought is that concerns me about the name is that my cousin named her own daughter [name_u]Larkin[/name_u] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] but rarely uses her middle name so I don’t think it would be a problem.

I have 3 middle name ideas

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Darling[/name_f] - soooo cute! I love the idea of the middle name [name_f]Darling[/name_f] for a little girl.:heart::heart:
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] - I think it’s cute and vintage but maybe too clunky? I also would potentially like to use [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as a first name one day.
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] - [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is my grandmother’s name

What do you like?? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have other suggestions? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the name [name_f]Esther[/name_f]?

I really like the name [name_f]Esther[/name_f]!
I agree that [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is a little clunky, though I love the name [name_f]Margot[/name_f] too! [name_f]Darling[/name_f] and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] work well and if you are into first/middle nicknames I think that [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] [name_f]Dot[/name_f] is kinda cute.
Some other middle name recommendations-
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Esther[/name_f], it has such a lovely meaning. I’m not religious but I can see why it’s appealing in that sense.

I don’t think it matters about your cousin’s daughter because it’s in the middle.

I like all your middle name options! [name_f]Darling[/name_f] might be harder to live with as an adult, and [name_f]Esther[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] would make great sisters, so maybe [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is the way to go? You could even nickname her ‘Edie’ for E.D. :face_holding_back_tears:

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] so much I used it for my own :purple_heart: Based on your middles I like [name_f]Darling[/name_f] as you seem to really love it the most.

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] is gorgeous! :dizzy:

Regarding your relative [name_u]Larkin[/name_u] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] it really wouldn’t be a massive concern ultimately it’s not your child’s sibling and lots of families share names so I think it’s fine.

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Darling[/name_f] is beautiful. [name_u]Bright[/name_u], whimsical and has tons of cottagecore imagery whilst having a magical fairytale feel giving [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Pan[/name_m] mysticism. I think she’s gorgeous.

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] feels very timeless, classic and elegant. However I feel that you’re not completely sold and I do think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] would make a lovely sister name for [name_f]Esther[/name_f] so I would scratch off the list.

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is lovely very vintage! She’s sweet, elegant, has this call the midwife aesthetic and feels happy. I love the sentiment behind using your Grandma’s name. This is my favourite followed by [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Darling[/name_f]!

Other ideas could be [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]Larkspur[/name_u], [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_u]Garnet[/name_u].

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] is one of my favourite names - top 5 gals’!
Think [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] would is beautiful - I favour honour names for middles, plus it flows and gives you [name_f]Edie[/name_f] but also Esti/Esty which you could use anyway but ties in with the Y of [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. :two_hearts:

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] is great! I like the flow of [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Darling[/name_f] best but I’m a big fan of honor middle names so I’m leaning towards [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] also sounds good but [name_f]Esther[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] make fantastic sisters so I’d maybe save [name_f]Margot[/name_f] for future kids.

I love [name_f]Esther[/name_f]

I love all the middle names
Have you considered [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Darlene[/name_f]? [name_f]Darlene[/name_f] does indeed come from [name_f]Darling[/name_f] but it feels more tailored to be a name for a person,

I adore [name_f]Esther[/name_f]!

I’d choose [name_f]Darling[/name_f], personally, for her middle name. It’s so lovely and has an absolutely fantastic flow. Literary and lush! However, I also adore the meaning [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] holds for you (and the meaning of that name)! I am a total honor name enthusiast.

You really can’t go wrong, especially with sweet and strong [name_f]Esther[/name_f] as the first name 🫶🏼

Second cousins with the same given name is no big deal, especially if they have different surnames. Its only first cousins with the same giving name can be problematic. [name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and I have a first cousin named [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (we have different surnames by the way) and my aunt and uncle named her [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] to be mean to my parents. I also know two Madeline’s who are second cousins and I don’t think the younger Madeline’s parents were trying to be mean to the older Madeline’s parents. They also have different surnames.
