I’m really loving [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]) lately. I want to honor my mother, [name_f]Heather[/name_f], with [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f]'s middle. Of course, I don’t want to be too on the nose and use [name_f]Heather[/name_f] itself, so what are my other options?
I like [name_f]Calluna[/name_f], which is a variant of the [name_f]Heather[/name_f] plant. What do you all suggest?
Thank you!
Update: thank you, everyone! So far, I love Hazel, Grey, and Flora! I also found Heidi, which comes from the German word meaning “heather.”
Gwondolen [name_f]Calluna[/name_f] is beautiful!! I love that!
You could also use…
[name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] [name_f]Hera[/name_f] (moves around the letters in heather)
[name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] (means heather field)
[name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] (heather-grown hill)
I’m glad to see some love for [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] [name_f]Calluna[/name_f]! I couldn’t tell if it’s too clunky or not.
Gwendolen [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is just so sweet. I also love [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] [name_f]Hera[/name_f] because I’m a huge mythology buff. [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] is so soft.
Heath is a more masculine (but unisex) sounding variant.
You could use more generic floral names, such as [name_f]Posy[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], or [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
I like @sgsg8’s suggestions! Additionally, [name_f]Calluna[/name_f] is perfect!
I have a long time crush on the name [name_f]Erika[/name_f], and I’m obsessed with the meaning, so this specific question was like my bat signal. [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f] [name_f]Erica[/name_f] maybe doesn’t have the best flow, but I don’t dislike the two names together either! Maybe going for a double middle with [name_f]Erica[/name_f] might work best, if you end up liking the idea.
