For me, last place is [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]. I just don’t like how it sounds and it feels like the most outdated name of the three.
Milicent is quite sweet and elegant and doesn’t have old lady vibes (for me at least) at all. I knew a [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] at school, maybe that’s why. She was a lovely, intelligent girl - I always associate the name with her when I hear it.
Mildred… I’ve liked [name_f]Mildred[/name_f] since I was a teenager and was astonished to find out when I first got into names that most people absolute hate it. To me it sounds very elegant and proper. I think if people met a little [name_f]Mildred[/name_f], it would change the old lady association.
I can’t rank them because I love them all so much.
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] is more than likely my favourite because it is my grandma’s name. She is a beautiful person who would give the shirt off her back. She instilled so many great values , humour and the love of reading and . She has had nicknames [name_u]Marie[/name_u] , [name_u]Jo[/name_u], [name_u]Jorie[/name_u] and [name_f]Marj[/name_f]
Millicent and [name_f]Mildred[/name_f] and both beautiful. In real life I don’t know many to have associations . I love [name_f]Millie[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f], like [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], and think [name_f]Mildred[/name_f] is ugly but interesting.
Eternal Knitting Needles is a compliment in my book! I much prefer that to female raunch culture, but then I’m someone who would gladly name her daughter [name_f]Mildred[/name_f] or [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] or [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f].
Marjorie is strong with positive associations for me. [name_m]Can[/name_m]’t imagine a spineless [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f].
Millicent I like with [name_f]Florence[/name_f], nice twins. A gentle sounding name and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is cute.
Mildred does have that mildew association, but it too is a strong name.
I really like [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] and I can picture a kid named [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]. [name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_m]Mills[/name_m] as nicknames.
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]: I don’t like it but it sounds vintage to me, not dated.
[name_f]Mildred[/name_f]: definitely dated.
I’d be iffy about [name_f]Mildred[/name_f] but considering the honor I like it for you! ^.^
