I’m having trouble deciding between these three names:
Minka
Indie Mae
Milla
What do you think? Also, I’m having trouble coming up with middle names for Minka. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I like [name]Milla[/name] best, followed by [name]Minka[/name] with [name]Indie[/name] being a distant third. Here are some middle name ideas for [name]Minka[/name] (most of which work with [name]Milla[/name] as well)…
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Delphine[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
Minka Claire
I love [name]Minka[/name] and second the pp’s suggestions of
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] and [name]Minka[/name] [name]Jane[/name].
Also:
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Nalani[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Neve[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Iris[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
I also like [name]Milla[/name], very pretty, just find it slightly slightly less interesting and intriguing than [name]Minka[/name]!
[name]India[/name] for me also, is a far distant third choice…
Another vote for [name]Minka[/name]! -definitely my favorite.
[name]Milla[/name] is okay but seems as pp said ’ not as interesting’. and I don’t care for [name]Indie[/name].
My favorite is [name]Milla[/name]- [name]Minka[/name] makes me think of mink coats, and I’m not a fan of [name]Indie[/name]
I vote for [name]Milla[/name].
I’d vote for [name]India[/name] [name]Mae[/name], with [name]Indie[/name] as a nickname. I love [name]India[/name] [name]Mae[/name].
Second choice would be [name]Minka[/name], with middlename:
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Jean[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Nell[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Snow[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Athene[/name]
[name]Hi[/name] everyone, I agree that [name]Milla[/name] is really pretty. It’s always been my favourite name, but a good friend of mine called her daughter [name]Mila[/name] and I know she would be upset if I used [name]Milla[/name]. I really like [name]Minka[/name] but my husband likes [name]Indie[/name]. He doesn’t like [name]Minka[/name] and thinks she’ll get bad nicknames - like Stinky Minky. LOL. I’m not sure what to do.
I am considering [name]Minka[/name] for a second daughter but something about the name holds me back - it’s simultaneously too “cute” (I wonder how it would age) and too sex-kitteny. I want to love it, but somehow it only feels like it would work for a [name]Bond[/name] Girl.
I don’t like [name]Indie[/name] very much b/c it feels incomplete. [name]India[/name] perhaps, but not [name]Indie[/name]. Maybe you can use [name]Indie[/name] as a nickname for one of the following names?
[name]Indigo[/name]
Alcinda
[name]Kindra[/name]
[name]Lindsay[/name]
[name]Melinda[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name]
[name]Milla[/name] is my favorite but I understand your dilemma about a good friend just using [name]Mila[/name]. Again, maybe you can use [name]Milla[/name] as a nickname for:
[name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Millicent[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name]
Yes, [name]Minka[/name] does sound a bit sex kitteny. Also, it sounds like a really rude Italian word - ‘Minchia’. I am Italian and I’m sure my relatives would think I’m crazy. I ran it by my sister, and she immediately thought of ‘minchia’! She and my husband hate it.
It’s so frustrating when a friend uses a name that you really love.
[name]Minka[/name] is the name of an actress in the new [name]Charlie[/name]'s [name]Angel[/name] film - [name]Minka[/name] [name]Kelly[/name].
Unfortunately I don’t like the other variations of the name [name]Milla[/name] or [name]Indie[/name]. For me personally I don’t like to shortened names. I have always wished my nickname was my proper name. It’s such a tough decision.
Definitely [name]Milla[/name] of those three, though I prefer it as a nickname for sure. [name]Camilla[/name] or [name]Millicent[/name] nn [name]Milla[/name] would be lovely.
I vote for [name]Milla[/name]. So cute.
You can still get to [name]Milla[/name] with a friend’s daughter named [name]Mila[/name] if you use it as a nickname for something like [name]Camilla[/name]. Otherwise, I vote for [name]Minka[/name].
Is [name]Milla[/name] pronounced Mill-uh or Mee-luh? I like either but wonder if people will have trouble with the pronunciation. [name]Minka[/name] is really pretty and completely phonetic, so that’s a plus! It makes me think of an Arctic princess (whatever that is!)
Definitely [name]Milla[/name], but I also like [name]Indie[/name].
I like [name]Indie[/name] the best, and prefer [name]Minka[/name] over [name]Milla[/name].
My [name]Minka[/name], who’s given name is [name]Wilhelmina[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Rose[/name], is two, so I can tell you a few realities of the name. Most people don’t hear the “N”, and mistake her name for [name]Mika[/name], I have to correct them and really annunciate the “N” to the point that it sounds a bit odd. The name [name]Minka[/name] seems to be really fun to play with, so nicknames, pet names, and little variations pop up everywhere! Some are cute and sweet, others not so much! Although we never planned to, we tend to use her middle name quite often with her first, so call her [name]Minka[/name] [name]Rose[/name] about as often as we call her anything else. My seven year old son absolutely calls her Stinky Minky (especially when she fills her diaper lol), so your husband is correct with that one. Many people (myself included) call her Minky, which I think is cute and it suits her. Minky is then followed by a host of cutesy terms of endearment, so she becomes Minky Pie, Minky Boo, Minky Poo, etc. She has also been called Minkerbelle (like Tinkerbelle), but that’s kind of adorable. I think the name is impossibly cute, I guess I never thought of [name]Minka[/name] as a sex kitten name, but I fear the actress [name]Minka[/name] [name]Kelly[/name] might influence the name’s image and popularity.
Honestly, I like [name]Indie[/name] [name]Mae[/name]. I agree with a pp, however, about maybe using a slightly more feminine full first name such as [name]India[/name] or [name]Indigo[/name].
I think [name]India[/name] [name]Mae[/name] or [name]Indigo[/name] [name]Mae[/name] both sound lovely!
I do think you should let go of [name]Minka[/name]. In addition to the animal/fur reference, it reminds me of the British slang word “manky,” which means “disgusting.” And in addition to the “stinky” rhyme your husband pointed out, there’s also “kinky.”
[name]Indie[/name] seems too trendy/incomplete: reminds me of [name]Indiana[/name] [name]Jones[/name], frequently called [name]Indy[/name] in the movies, and “[name]Indie[/name]” music/culture. Sort of like naming your child “Hippie” or “Yuppie” (though admittedly [name]Indie[/name] is much prettier than these).
Given the [name]Milla[/name]/[name]Mila[/name] problem, and that you dislike shortening names and would prefer a name that’s short and sweet to begin with, I’d say start fresh.
