Minnie can be a nickname for _______?

Need quick help.

I’ve got a newborn. She looks like a [name]Minnie[/name]. I want to call her [name]Minnie[/name], but we don’t want to name her [name]Minnie[/name]. Ideas?

So far, this site has given me…

[name]Mary[/name]
[name]Wilhelmina[/name]
[name]Jessamyn[/name]
[name]Dominique[/name]

I’ve always heard it as an old fashioned nickname for [name]Minerva[/name].

Forgot about [name]Minerva[/name]! Definitely looking for more, thank you!

[name]Minka[/name] could also be an option. I looked it up and it says its actually a nickname for [name]Wilhelmina[/name], but I’ve heard it used in its own right. Cool meaning too: strong willed warrior. It could be a cool contrast to the sweet and spunky [name]Minnie[/name].

This may be a stretch, but I love the idea of using [name]Minnie[/name] as a nickname for [name]Hermione[/name].

I think [name]Minerva[/name] is a fabulous suggestion. Other ideas:

[name]Araminta[/name]
[name]Benjamina[/name] (I actually quite like this, and I don’t like many feminizations)
[name]Carmen[/name]
[name]Jasmine[/name]

I hope this helps!

I worked with a lady named [name]Minnie[/name]. I also really like it as a nickname for [name]Minerva[/name].

Minia – means strong
Minowa – means moving voice
Minori – means beautiful harbor

Minuette
Minnetta
[name]Mina[/name]/Minah/[name]Minna[/name]
[name]Minka[/name]
[name]Armina[/name]
MaIriN
Flamina
[name]Amelia[/name] ([name]Minnie[/name] Driver’s first name)
[name]Dominica[/name]

I think it would work for any M name or any name with M sound like Whilemena, [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Philomena[/name] etc…

[name]Wilhelmina[/name] is my favorite full name for the NM [name]Minnie[/name]. She will also have lots of othe fun nn choices and a respectable fn.

[name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Marguerite[/name]

[name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Marguerite[/name]

[name]Amelia[/name] - she’ll have a pretty, sophisticated, slightly lacy full name to grow into and fall back on, and a cute, spunky nickname.
The best of both worlds!

I second the suggestions of [name]Minerva[/name] (really love this!), [name]Wilhelmina[/name], and [name]Amelia[/name]

[name]Melinda[/name] or [name]Melina[/name].

[name]Love[/name] the suggestions of [name]Wilhelmina[/name] (nn [name]Mina[/name] is cute too) or [name]Minka[/name].

Some great ideas so far!

[name]Melanie[/name]
[name]Marie[/name]
[name]Marina[/name]
[name]Mina[/name]
[name]Maren[/name]

[name]Jasmine[/name], [name]Yasmin[/name], [name]Wilhelmina[/name], [name]Philomena[/name], [name]Carmen[/name], Cosmina, [name]Mina[/name], [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Simone[/name]?
I love [name]Minnie[/name]! I would do [name]Carmen[/name] or [name]Simone[/name], a strong & sophisticated fn for an adorable & sweet nn!

I think really anything starting with an M would work. What about doing an M first name and an N middle name like [name]Mary[/name] [name]Natalie[/name]? [name]Minnie[/name] is such a cute vintage nickname, I’m glad you’re using it!

Some other ideas:

[name]Araminta[/name]
Minver

[name]Minerva[/name]
[name]Mina[/name]
[name]Arminta[/name]
Minionette (sp?)
