Mireille or Mireya?

Hi! Which name do you prefer - [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] (pron. Mee-[name_u]Ray[/name_u]) or [name_f]Mireya[/name_f]? Both names mean “to admire/miraculous/miracle”

Mireya - Easier to spell, and I think the pronunciation is a bit more straightforward!

I like [name_f]Mireya[/name_f]! A plus is that I think it would be more easily pronounced than [name_f]Mireille[/name_f], I only knew how to say it from being on NB.

Well its tempting to shorten [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] to Mirei for the sake of people not getting the name wrong all the time outside of french speaking areas. [name_f]Mireya[/name_f] I think is pretty.

I really like [name_f]Mireille[/name_f]. It is harder to spell and pronounce, but I still think it’s lovely. It’s simple, but not dull.

Mireille is so, so gorgeous! It would be my pick. It feels so feminine and sophisticated. Seeing the written name people may have to ask how to pronounce it but once said, they know. I would love to meet a [name_f]Mireille[/name_f]!

I prefer [name_f]Mireya[/name_f] (though do have [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] on my list as a middle name). Both names are lovely but I think [name_f]Mireya[/name_f] would be a lot easier for [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers to pronounce. To me it sounds elegant and joyful.

I like the looks of [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] in print better, but I like the sound of [name_f]Mireya[/name_f] better.

With an [name_f]English[/name_f] R sound, I much prefer [name_f]Mireya[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Mireille[/name_f]! It has more sparkle to me, and that fun vintagey [name_u]French[/name_u] flair.

I think I prefer [name_f]Mireya[/name_f], only because [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] seems like it’s pronounced “meer-ee-ell” by just looking at it so it gets kind of confusing (at least for me).

Mireya is lovely! They’re very similar, but [name_f]Mireya[/name_f] would be easier to spell and easier to pronounce - and I think it looks cleaner and prettier written out.
