Miriam - use or lose?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! What do you think about this name? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it soundwise? Does it feel outdated? What associations come to mind?

What nicknames would you use?

Thanks!

Use! I love it so much. It has a sweet vintage feel! I really like how it sounds, feminine and cute yet not frilly.

Use! I love [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]. I think it’s got a really pretty, feminine sound and is a sweet alternative to the other more popular [name_f]Mary[/name_f] names. Nicknames could be [name_f]Miri[/name_f], [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], or [name_f]Ria[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]. Soft and sweet while also feeling strong and substantial!

I love the nicknames [name_f]Miri[/name_f], Mims and [name_f]Mimi[/name_f]

I absolutely love [name_f]Miriam[/name_f].

Unfortunately I know someone named [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] so for that reason its not on my list. If I didn’t know this particular person (shes someone my husband grew up with up so its too associated for him and her sister is married to his cousin so we see her from time to time. ) I would be in love with the name.

My other association is Marvelous Mrs. Maisel if you have heard of the show. She mostly goes by [name_f]Midge[/name_f] which I think is a super cool nickname. Its a really good association. I recommend the show if you haven’t seen it and it may help you love (or dislike lol if you end up not liking the show!) [name_f]Miriam[/name_f].

I love the combo [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]!

Hi there.

Love [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]! It’d be near the top of my list, but it’s pretty bad w/our last name. I think that it’s such a great balance of feminine sweetness with bold intelligent elegance. It’s very simple & vintage & well known, but not very common. I like the nns [name_f]Mira[/name_f] or [name_f]Miri[/name_f]. I think that you could do the nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f] too. Maybe [name_f]Maisy[/name_f]?

Hope this helps.

I love [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]! If my dd didn’t already have an M name, I would probably have it on my list for our next child. It’s my great- great- grandmother’s name, which means it’s probably ready for revival! I love the nickname [name_f]Miri[/name_f]!

It’s a pretty name.

Miriam is not my style, but I do like it and think it’s perfectly usable. It has both a strength and softness to it that I enjoy. I have a personal association with the name that is unfortunate, but it really doesn’t dim the name too much for me and other than the Biblical figure, I have no other associations. I think [name_f]Miri[/name_f] would be the sweetest nickname.

I love [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]!!! I absolutely adore the nickname [name_f]Miri[/name_f], but [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is sweet too

I think [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] is lovely! It has a gentle, graceful sound, and, since it has never been too popular, it doesn’t feel dated at all – much more timeless. I don’t really have any associations with it other than [name_m]Moses[/name_m]’ sister in the Bible (or in the movies based on the story).

Miri would be an adorable nn!

Use!

I’m reading a book with a [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] “[name_f]Mim[/name_f]” and I love it! Sooo cute and spunky.

USE! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
So pretty and vintage and underused.

Mimi, [name_f]Miri[/name_f], [name_f]Midge[/name_f]

So very pretty; definitely use!

Use!! I do really like it  I think of an older (now deceased) woman I knew growing up, but it’s never felt dated to me. I love the nickname [name_f]Mim[/name_f], but there’s so many great ones to choose from!
