[name]Hi[/name], berries I’m new here! I’m just so glad to find this website since I’m struggling with my daughter’s name.
I’m expecting a baby girl, who will be a sister for [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Hope[/name]. I’ve chosen [name]Isabella[/name] for her first name.
I know its popularity, but still it’s my favorite name and my husband loves it! It’s just so romantic and beautiful to me.
[name]Imogen[/name] and [name]Isabella[/name] were both used by [name]Shakespeare[/name], and I love [name]Shakespeare[/name]!
I also thought of [name]Helena[/name] and [name]Hermia[/name], but still [name]Isabella[/name]'s my favorite. Maybe, we can save those for our next baby.
I have three mn choices for [name]Isabella[/name].
[name]Isabella[/name] [name]Monet[/name]
[name]Isabella[/name] [name]Giselle[/name] (with the French pronounciation)
[name]Isabella[/name] [name]Marie[/name] (I know it’s the name of [name]Bella[/name] in Twilight, but [name]Marie[/name] is my mother-in-law’s name, and my husband wants to use it for [name]Isabella[/name]. He wanted to use it for [name]Imogen[/name], but I didn’t like it. But for [name]Isabella[/name], I think it sounds great!)
What’s the French pronunciation for [name]Giselle[/name]?
My favorite is [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Monet[/name]. It was a combo on my own list a while ago! I don’t really like the double "ell"s in [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Giselle[/name], so [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Marie[/name] would be my second choice. I love the significance of [name]Marie[/name], but my mn is [name]Marie[/name] and I’ve always hated it. And I really dislike the Twilight association. Could you use her mm or something? Otherwise, I think it’s lovely. All your choices are lovely, lol, it’s hard to choose!
Thanks for sharing your opinion
Monet’s also my favorite, but my husband likes Marie more.
French prn for Giselle is Zhee-zelle or Jiz-elle.
Giselle’s one of my favorite name, but after reading your reply, I feel like double ell is kinda too much.
Also, my husband just didn’t care, so up to two, Monet and Marie
I think [name]Monet[/name] is an awesome choice, because [name]Isabella[/name] is such a common name, and [name]Monet[/name] is more unusual. (Although I still think of the movie Clueless, where [name]Cher[/name] calls another character ‘a [name]Monet[/name],’ and explains that that means it looks fine from a distance but up close looks like ‘a big old mess!’)
[name]Both[/name] choices are very pretty, although I prefer [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. [name]How[/name] about [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Marianne[/name] or something like that? : )
[name]Isabella[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is my favorite, because it honors family. Or how about going with [name]Mae[/name], [name]Maria[/name], or [name]Maren[/name]?
Thanks
I hope [name]Isabella[/name] isn’t a common name, but I still [name]LOVE[/name] it!
I haven’t seen Clueless but looks fine from a distance but up close looks like a big old mess doesn’t sound so good though lol
Thanks:)
I actually thought of [name]Marianne[/name] but I think it’s just too long for my taste. My husband likes it though, because he thinks it can also honor me. I was called [name]Maryann[/name] as a kid even though my name’s totally ‘not’ related to it.
Thanks kyemsma
I really want to honor my mother-in-law. She is my amazing role-model. But afraid it’s the name of [name]Bella[/name] in Twilight. [name]Will[/name] Twilight effect disappear soon? I just like [name]Marie[/name] itself.
I know a lot of little Isabellas. We loved [name]Isabella[/name] when we were expecting our daughter but then we started noticing all the little Isabellas being born in our area. There were 3 Isabellas born in the same hospital as our daughter the same week she was born.
Maybe where you live it’s not as common. I hope not. It’s a georgeous name and I hate to be the [name]Debbie[/name] Downer, but it’s very popular where I live.
That being said, I’d go with [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Monet[/name]. It’s a lovely name and while it doesn’t honor your mil it will definitely give some uniqueness to her name. Lots of [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Marie[/name]'s, not so many [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Monet[/name]'s. Best of luck!!
My favorite is [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Monet[/name]. And I agree, this name is beautiful, romantic, it’s amazing. No wonder it’s number one!! I had the number one most popular name in the 80’s, had like 4 others in some of my classes, no joke. But it didn’t bother me at all. I liked the attention of having other’s with the same name in my class. It was cute and always felt that my mom gave me such a pretty name because so many other girls had it too!! It does sound dated now because it was so popular, that’s the only drawback in going with a really popular name. But I don’t think that will happen with [name]Isabella[/name]. It might eventually get played out, I mean, number one names don’t stay that way forever. But I don’t think it will sound dated in the sense that my name does because [name]Isabella[/name] is a classic, beautiful name [name]RICH[/name] with history. And it has a TON of fabulous nn’s. [name]Bella[/name], [name]Belle[/name], Izze, [name]Isa[/name], even [name]Sosie[/name]!.
