MNs for Diana or Miranda

Any ideas? Last name is Hatten.

Also - which fn - Diana or Miranda - do you like best and why?

Bonus points if the mn for [name]Diana[/name] has -mar- in it somewhere.

I like unusual and sometimes old-fashioned names. Surprising but not WTF. I’m not crazy about the yupster names - [name]Alice[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Cora[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], etc. I like names that are feminine but not necessarily frilly, and evocative of autumn or winter, nature and astronomy, mythology and folklore, [name]Ireland[/name] and [name]Scotland[/name], literature and [name]Shakespeare[/name]. I also love Biblical and virtue names.

Thanks! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Also - which fn do u like better - [name]Diana[/name] or [name]Miranda[/name] - and why? Thx!

[name]Diana[/name] is better.

[name]Diana[/name] [name]Marian[/name]?

[name]Diana[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Rosemarie[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]

[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]

Two very nice names to choose from! My pick would be [name]Miranda[/name]

I adore [name]Miranda[/name]. No contest in my opinion.

For MNs I think it depends a lot on the last name, for what sounds good all together, in your case I think maybe a short 1 syllable name might have a nice rhthmn.

I also like MNs that have some personal significance eg honouring a friend or family member and I think it’s a nice opportunity to be a bit more playful, if that helps you find a direction.

Some ideas:
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] Bey (pn [name]Bay[/name]). Or maybe [name]Jay[/name], [name]Kaye[/name] etc using an initial of someone special, including you or your partner
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Snow[/name] (from your list)
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Star[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Millicent[/name]

I prefer [name]Diana[/name]. [name]How[/name] about [name]Diana[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]?

I mildly prefer [name]Miranda[/name] with your last name. The short a sound in [name]Diana[/name] is just a little closer to the short a sound in Hatten (three sounds between them as opposed to four sounds with [name]Miranda[/name]). But [name]Diana[/name] works too.

My suggestion for [name]Diana[/name] + mar = [name]Diana[/name] [name]Margo/name. This is one of my favorite middles with [name]Diana[/name] anyway.

With [name]Miranda[/name]…[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Joan[/name] comes to mind. I like [name]Miriam[/name] [name]Joan[/name] and it’s a little similar. Also [name]Miranda[/name] [name]Lily[/name]. [name]Miranda[/name] [name]Florence[/name]. From your list, [name]Miranda[/name] [name]Winter[/name] or [name]Miranda[/name] [name]Vesper[/name] is really nice.

[name]Both[/name] are lovely choices. I like [name]Miranda[/name] better just because it seems more uncommon to me. I have only met one [name]Miranda[/name] but I know of a few Dianas or Dianes.

I liked someone’s suggestion of [name]Diana[/name] [name]Margot[/name].

Here are some different choices for [name]Miranda[/name]:
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Autumn[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Jewel[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Aoife[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Agnes[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Esme[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Sarah[/name]

I prefer [name]Diana[/name]. It is pretty sounding, but has a history and meaning. I knew a girl named [name]Miranda[/name] and she was ugly and mean, so it completely ruined it for me.

[name]Diana[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Marceline[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Marcella[/name]

You have a great aesthetic. I don’t think I have ever seen someone articulate their name philosophy as well or extensively as you. Thanks for letting us in on it! I love [name]Miranda[/name]. [name]Diana[/name] just makes me think of [name]Princess[/name] [name]Di[/name], which is nice, but a very specific association. [name]Miranda[/name], on the other hand, makes me think of The [name]Tempest[/name], my [name]FAVORITE[/name] [name]Shakespeare[/name], and also the one other person I know named [name]Miranda[/name].
For [name]Diana[/name]:
[name]Amara[/name]
[name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Marguerite[/name] or [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Marin[/name]

I prefer [name]Miranda[/name] for these exact reasons.
