Moira vs. Maura

Which do you prefer?

I prefer [name_f]Maura[/name_f]. I’ve never liked the Moi- sound, or the look of the MOI letters together for whatever reason…

[name_f]Maura[/name_f]. The “moy” sound is unpleasant to me.

I like both but slightly prefer [name_f]Maura[/name_f].

[name_f]Maura[/name_f] looks and sounds nicer, imo.

I prefer [name_f]Maura[/name_f] but I am always torn between [name_f]Maura[/name_f] and [name_f]Mara[/name_f].

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] @aillidh,

[name_f]Moira[/name_f] is my personal preference.

To me, she’s spunkier-sounding and more interesting-looking than [name_f]Maura[/name_f].

I’d actually agree with this even though I’m voting [name_f]Maura[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Moira[/name_f] DOES look spunkier/livelier. [name_f]Maura[/name_f] feels more somber to me, I just happen to like it’s somber grounded sound.

Personally, I prefer [name_f]Maura[/name_f]. I agree that [name_f]Moira[/name_f] sounds more spunky and unique, but ultimately I prefer the gentle “o” sound of [name_f]Maura[/name_f] over the “oi” sound of [name_f]Moira[/name_f].

[name_f]Moira[/name_f] reminds me of “moist,” a word that gives me the heebie-jeebies. :frowning: The “moy” sound just doesn’t work for me.

Oh, but I love [name_f]Maura[/name_f]! It’s beautiful.

[name_f]Maura[/name_f]. The ‘moi’ sound in [name_f]Moira[/name_f] isn’t appealing to me.

I love [name_f]Moira[/name_f]! I am not a big fan of [name_f]Maura[/name_f], but I apparently in the minority on this.

[name_f]Maura[/name_f] is much more soft and nice, [name_f]Moira[/name_f] to me sounds dated, I’ve only heard I on women aged around 50/60

[name_f]Maura[/name_f] is so pretty, whereas [name_f]Moira[/name_f] just sounds kind of blehhh.
