A few posts back I mentioned I added the name [name]Molly[/name] to my list and asked for middle name ideas. (I got some great suggestions) Now I would like to get some opinions on spelling!
My theme for my names is vintage; [name]Mollie[/name] was in the top 100 in the late 1800’s, however [name]Molly[/name] was around the 800 area. Spelling isn’t that big a deal becuse it’s still the same name regardless lol. I feel like [name]Mollie[/name] is more feminine than [name]Molly[/name], but also pretty frilly (not necesserily a bad thing)
mollie seems made up and too frilly although you say it was in the top 100 in the 1800s, but i would not know that and maybe others wouldn’t? therefore i prefer molly
I love the [name]Mollie[/name] spelling, because it seems more like a “real” name. [name]Molly[/name] was used as a nickname for [name]Mary[/name] a lot, and I see it as a nickname.
I prefer [name]Molly[/name]. I think it’s the more classic spelling of the two. [name]Mollie[/name] just looks made-up to me and overly-frilly for the name.
I love both! I think it is an adorable name either way. I think since [name]Molly[/name] is more common that it will almost always be spelled that way but there is certainly nothing wrong with [name]Mollie[/name] if that is the spelling you prefer
“I came across [name]Millicent[/name] today, a name I had forgotten about. I quite like it.
It reminded me of some books I had when I was a kid, about a girl called [name]Millicent[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Amanda[/name], who was called [name]Milly[/name] [name]Molly[/name] [name]Mandy[/name]. I was in awe of that name then, in fact I still think it’s fab”
