Mom daughter name rhyme

I’m pregnant with baby number 2 and we are struggling to pick a girls name. We both love the name [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], but my name is [name_f]Brenna[/name_f]. Is it too weird that they rhyme or is that no big deal??

I don’t think it’s a big deal at all. They aren’t very similar, so the endings of them rhyming doesn’t strike me as weird.

I agree with the other comments, no big deal. I know a mum who is named [name_f]Alina[/name_f] and her daughter is named [name_f]Nina[/name_f], as far as I am aware, there have been no problems with it.

I don’t think it’s a big deal, so long as you don’t mind the rhyming or minding people thinking [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is a slight nod to you

I don’t think it’s an issue. If you had two daughters named [name_f]Brenna[/name_f] & [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] it might be, but for mother/daughter I think it’s completely fine.

I agree with @futuremama for sisters it would be too much but for mother/daughter it’s actually kind of sweet.

I don’t think it’s too big of a deal. It helps that the two names are different in length. It would probably bug me if it were me, just because that’s the sort of thing to bug me, but there’s honestly no real issue here.

No biggie.

Agreed, no big deal

If it doesn’t bother you then it is fine. Or, maybe you would like [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] or Chaira.

My aunt is Ann3tte and her daughter is Col3tte, I always felt like the rhyming fit them, since her dad wasn’t in the picture. They were their own dynamic duo! But I think it can work for a non-single parent lol

No big deal. Women should not feel ashamed to name their daughters after themselves - or have a similar-sounding name to their daughters!

I don’t think it’s a big deal! The names are distinct enough imo.

Totally fine.

Not too bad. The beginning of mom’s name shares 3/4 letters with mine and I find that bothersome because both our nicknames are the same save for the first letter. But [name_f]Bren[/name_f]/Sien are different sounding enough that it works.

I have a friend named [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and her son’s name is W@lter. [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and W@lly. She jokes about it a little bit, but it’s super cute and nobody else has ever said anything about it (even when she’s not around). I don’t think its a problem at all!

I think it would create a cute connection!

That doesn’t seem like a big deal.
