my mom’s name is charity, which is so so lovely, but i’d opt for a shared meaning with mabel. ![]()
for a middle, possibly olive, a name my mom just loves, or jean, a play on her middle name ![]()

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] post!
I would use (for [name_f]Christine[/name_f] Ann):
Middle names, [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] - eg [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]
And/or a a combo of [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] (her eyes), [name_u]October[/name_u] (birth month), [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] (red fave colour), [name_f]Opal[/name_f] or [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] (birth stone & flower), or [name_f]Allegra[/name_f] (her love of music and cheerful nature, plus the first name I remember her saying she loved, sparking my fixation with names).
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f] [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_u]October[/name_u]
Ruby-Ann [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
I love this thread! ![]()
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom’s name is [name_f]Krista[/name_f], and I plan on using [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] or [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] as a middle to honor her. I’ve also thought about using [name_u]Garnet[/name_u], because it’s her birthstone, or [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f], because it’s her birth flower. I actually really really love [name_f]Snowdrop[/name_f], but my mom thinks it’s awful so I probably won’t ever be using that.
Come to think of it, [name_u]January[/name_u] ‘Jane’ would be a super cool honor for her as well! [name_u]Anne[/name_u], one of my top names, is also an honor for her (as well as my brother, Anson) because her middle name is [name_f]Ann[/name_f].
Daisy Pearl - My mom was born in April and Daisy is one of April’s birth flowers. And her name means pearl
If I were to honor her my way, I would use Alice because it is her middle name but she HATES it. Maybe Oona Alice since she is part Irish?
i’d go with ruth birdie or mae guinevere ![]()
[name_f]Bernice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] nn Birdie/ [name_u]Bird[/name_u]
[name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m] [name_m]Victor[/name_m] nn [name_u]Nick[/name_u]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f] McKenna nn CeeCee
[name_f]Bernice[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Bernice[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] nn Birdie/ [name_u]Bird[/name_u]
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_u]Jean[/name_u] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] nn [name_u]Jaycee[/name_u]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
I love this! [name_f]My[/name_f] mom was named [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] at birth, and when she was adopted her name was changed to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Her brother named his son the name he was given at birth, and she said she wishes she had done that with one of her daughters, so that’s why [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] is on my list, to honor her birth name of [name_f]Teresa[/name_f].
Such a sweet idea! We picked [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] as an honour name for my mum, [name_f]Annette[/name_f], because it is [name_m]Dutch[/name_m] (which is her heritage) and comes from the same root (Ann-). 🩷
I thought of another name I would use to honor my mom, Farnham [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. my mom has always said if she had thought about it before hand, my name would have been Farnham after her favorite singer [name_u]John[/name_u] Farnham and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is because she is Australian and Waltzing [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is basically the unofficial anthem of Australia.
[name_f]Ashira[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] ![]()
[name_f]Amethyst[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] ![]()
[name_f]Adelfia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] ![]()
[name_f]Ashira[/name_f]: follows the Jewish honoring tradition of using the first letter, means “I will sing” in Hebrew – my mom has a gorgeous singing voice
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]: sounds similar to her first name
[name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]: follows the Jewish honoring tradition of using the first letter, is my mom’s birthstone
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]: Is her birth flower, means “rainbow” which is sweet (she loves nature)
[name_f]Adelfia[/name_f]: follows the Jewish honoring tradition of using the first letter, means “beloved sister” – she has a close relationship with her sisters
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]: is her other birth flower
I would use [name_u]Marie[/name_u] as a middle name, which is my mom’s middle name. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom gave me her mom’s middle name (Elaine), so I’ve always thought it’d be sweet to honor her in the same way. Otherwise I may use her first name, [name_f]Terese[/name_f], as a middle name.
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] is on my list to honor my mom! Her name means “joyful song” so I like the idea of using a bird’s name to connect to that. She’s born in [name_f]May[/name_f], so I think today I’d go with [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f] with [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_f]May[/name_f] as nicknames ![]()
[name_f]My[/name_f] mother is [name_u]Patrice[/name_u] so I briefly considered [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] but my grandmother really disliked it so I let it go
I’d do:
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] - [name_f]Judy[/name_f] is her name, but I like [name_u]Jude[/name_u] a bit better. And [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] bc she loves the name, [name_u]Anne[/name_u] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables, and [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] was going be her name if her bio mom was able to keep her.
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] Fr4nc3s - inspired by her full name.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Josie[/name_u] ![]()
She has a double-barrelled name with one of them being [name_u]Marie[/name_u] and the other one being a form of [name_u]Josie[/name_u], and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is one of the only honor names that I love enough to use which is also coincidentally her aunt’s name.
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] ![]()
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is the name my mom so wanted to name me but my dad nixed, and my MIL’s name is [name_f]Diane[/name_f]. Or…
[name_f]Antonella[/name_f] “Nella” [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] ![]()
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom’s given name is [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] and her mother’s name was [name_f]Eileen[/name_f].
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] because thats her favourite colour, and [name_u]Marie[/name_u] because her middle name
[name_f]Violetta[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_u]Robin[/name_u]
[name_m]Favorite[/name_m] color, flower I associate with her, good character in a book she read us a lot/my favorite variation of her name/bird she’s fond of that I associate with her
I always had [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] picked out in honor of my mother, who was nicknamed “Lili”. But I have also loved [name_u]Elisa[/name_u] and [name_f]Annelisa[/name_f] for a long time, as alternative options. ![]()
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom is [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], so honor middle names that I like in that vein that I would consider are [name_u]Rae[/name_u], [name_f]Lynette[/name_f], and Lyanne
