I’m not likely going to move this one beyond the GP realm, but I heard it on a documentary/special about child stars and [name_u]Jaimee[/name_u] Foxworth’s full name came up (she played the youngest daughter, [name_f]Judy[/name_f] on Family Matters!). I really love the sound of [name_f]Monet[/name_f] (or the phonetic spelling [name_f]Monae[/name_f]) - it feels light and airy and fun, imo.
What are your thoughts on [name_f]Monet[/name_f] / [name_f]Monae[/name_f]?
I like the artist connection but unfortunately only think of ‘‘money’’ when I hear it. I prefer the [name_f]Monet[/name_f] spelling.
I definitely like the artistic feel of it. The name has a soft, vintage vibe because of the painting imagery that comes to mind with it, which I like. I think it could make a fine mn, though – not unusable, imo, and not so out-there that it has to be a gp. 
I prefer the [name_f]Monet[/name_f] spelling, but [name_f]Monae[/name_f] could work, too. Either way, I think the vast majority of people will know how to pronounce it.
Wow [name_m]Ive[/name_m] never thought about [name_f]Monae[/name_f]. I actually really like it. Same vibe as [name_u]Simone[/name_u]. Really pretty! I think [name_f]Monet[/name_f] would work better as middle name for parents who love the artist, but I think [name_f]Monae[/name_f] could work as a first for anyone who likes it.
Monet sounds beautiful and has a fantastic namesake. A family member’s name is [name_f]Monet[/name_f], and while she has had some pronunciation issues and some money jokes, she really loves her name because of how unique and pretty it is. She wears it really well, and I wish I heard of more Monets out there! I like the [name_f]Monet[/name_f] because of the tie to the artist and the [name_u]French[/name_u] -et ending.
I really like [name_f]Monet[/name_f]! As both a first name and last name. It has a quirky romantic feel. I prefer how [name_f]Monet[/name_f] looks.
