I’ve been trying to come up with a name to honor one of my grandmothers without directly using her name. I don’t dislike her name, but I’m not really a fan of it either.
She was quite the artist and particularly liked [name_u]Claude[/name_u] [name_f]Monet[/name_f]'s works, reproducing many of them in cool, out of the box ways.
I like the sound of the name [name_f]Monet[/name_f] and thought it could be a nice way to honor her.
Thoughts? I would likely only use it in the middle slot…
What about honoring with a variation of [name_f]Monet[/name_f]'s first? [name_f]Claudie[/name_f], [name_f]Claudette[/name_f], [name_f]Claudine[/name_f], etc? I don’t think [name_f]Monet[/name_f] works as well as a first as some other famous artist’s last names; if you’re set on it I would keep it in the middle slot.
I think [name_f]Monet[/name_f] as a mn works fine. nms but fine.
I’d probably choose something like your grandmothers maiden-name (depending on what it is) or a version of [name_u]Claude[/name_u] instead. I particularly like [name_f]Claudette[/name_f] and [name_f]Claudia[/name_f].
I actually like [name_f]Monet[/name_f] as a middle name. I also like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and think that [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] is very pretty. Have you thought about the name [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a reference to [name_f]Monet[/name_f]'s “Water lilies”? [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] or [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (although this may be too descriptive)? Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]
I like it, bit I’ll admit it also makes me think of the movie Clueless (“she’s a full-on [name_f]Monet[/name_f]. From far away she’s pretty but up close its just a big mess”)
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] is gorgeous! [name_f]Monet[/name_f] has some lovely snowscapes so [name_u]Winter[/name_u] seems fitting as a fn
I think [name_f]Monet[/name_f] makes a beautiful middle name, and I like the subtle association it would have with your grandmother - nice touch. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] is a gorgeous combo - rolls off the tongue so well - then again [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Monet[/name_f] sounds lovely too. I like both.
