I love month and day names and have a strong sense of which I like for males and which I like for females. I’m not sure why. It isn’t logical or provable.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] curious to know how others feel in their own idiosyncratic way.

I noticed how many of these names you wrote boy and girl on, whereas I think of them as one or the other.
It may have to do with synesthesia (which I am not sure how to spell). [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] for me is light blue and [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is green and nine is brown, etc. That’s probably part of the problem I have with traditionally female names on males too.

[name_u]January[/name_u], February, [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_u]July[/name_u], [name_f]September[/name_f], and [name_u]December[/name_u] are all girl to me.
I could maybe see [name_u]November[/name_u] and [name_f]October[/name_f] being unisex, but I prefer them on girls.
[name_u]March[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u] are the only firmly male month names to me.
As for days, [name_f]Monday[/name_f], [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f], [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f], Friday, and [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] are all girl. I could see Thursday being unisex, while [name_m]Saturday[/name_m] seems more male.
[name_u]January[/name_u] - neither, but girl if I had to chose
February - girl
[name_u]March[/name_u] - boy
[name_f]April[/name_f] - girl
[name_f]May[/name_f] - girl
[name_u]June[/name_u] - girl
[name_u]July[/name_u] - boy (or maybe girl)
[name_u]August[/name_u] - boy
[name_f]September[/name_f] - girl
[name_f]October[/name_f] - boy
[name_u]November[/name_u] - boy

[name_u]January[/name_u]: Either, but mostly boy
February: Neither, but mostly girl
[name_u]March[/name_u]: Either, but mostly boy
[name_f]April[/name_f]: Girl
[name_f]May[/name_f]: Girl
[name_u]June[/name_u]: Girl
[name_u]July[/name_u]: Boy
[name_u]August[/name_u]: Boy
[name_f]September[/name_f]: Either, but mostly boy.
[name_f]October[/name_f]: I honestly love it on both. nn [name_u]Toby[/name_u]/[name_u]Tobie[/name_u]!
[name_u]November[/name_u]: Again, either… Might have to give it to the girls thanks to nn [name_f]Nova[/name_f]…
[name_u]December[/name_u]: Either. Maybe mostly girl.
Basically, fall and winter names are fair-game, but spring and summer months seem to be more widely used and have bigger gender distinctions because of it.
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f]: Girl
[name_f]Monday[/name_f]: Girl
[name_f]Tuesday[/name_f]: Either
[name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]: Either
Thursday: Boy
Friday: Either
[name_m]Saturday[/name_m]: Either
I feel like so many names are more androgynous than they technically are, at least according to most name web sites.
Also, the synsethesia I actually wasn’t focusing in with this group of names. I know what you mean. [name_m]Saturday[/name_m] has always felt orange and reddish orange. [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] feels olive green, graysoh blue, or brownish orange.
Friday is very orangey red and [name_f]Monday[/name_f] has always felt medium-dark blue with varying degrees of gray.
[name_u]January[/name_u] - girl, probably because of [name_u]January[/name_u] [name_m]Jones[/name_m]
February - girl
[name_u]March[/name_u] - boy
[name_f]April[/name_f] - girl

[name_u]July[/name_u]- girl
[name_u]August[/name_u] - boy
[name_f]September[/name_f] - boy
[name_f]October[/name_f] - girl
[name_u]November[/name_u] - boy
[name_u]December[/name_u] - boy
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f] - girl
[name_f]Monday[/name_f] - girl
[name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] - girl
[name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] - boy
Thursday - boy
Friday - boy
[name_m]Saturday[/name_m] - boy
I don’t think there’s much logic to which gender I associate with which month or day name, but I’m looking to see if there is any.
It does seem that the warm weather months of spring and summer ([name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_u]July[/name_u]) are seen as female more often. But then why isn’t [name_u]August[/name_u]? I see it as male, but it is a warm month still.
The fall and winter months seem more up for unisex, though Nameberry lists [name_f]September[/name_f] and [name_f]October[/name_f] as pink only, whereas [name_u]November[/name_u], [name_u]December[/name_u], and [name_u]January[/name_u] are listed as both blue and pink. Despite [name_u]January[/name_u] [name_m]Jones[/name_m], I do think of male [name_u]Jan[/name_u]/[name_m]Janus[/name_m]/[name_m]Janusz[/name_m] and prefer it for males.
As for the days, well, they are all over the place. I think [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] and [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] are seen as female due to [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] Weld and the TV character. Why is [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] female though? [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] Paltrow’s child? I see it as female, but am not sure why. Too “good” sounding for a boy?
Thursday ([name_m]Thor[/name_m]) and [name_m]Saturday[/name_m] ([name_m]Saturn[/name_m]) seem reasonably male, but so do Friday ([name_m]Robinson[/name_m] [name_m]Crusoe[/name_m]'s Friday) and [name_f]Monday[/name_f] (too harsh sounding for a girl?).
Of all of these, I would only use [name_u]June[/name_u] as a middle and [name_f]October[/name_f] for a girl, but they are still appealing names to me.
The only day or month name I like is [name_u]August[/name_u], and I only like it on boys. [name_f]April[/name_f] and [name_f]May[/name_f] are alright for girls, but neither one of them are names I’d use.
