[name_f]Luna[/name_f] is very popular. What are some other names that relate to the moon which might be less popular but still usable?
Is [name_f]Selena[/name_f] too well known for [name_f]Selena[/name_f] Gomez?

I like [name_f]Selene[/name_f], [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], [name_m]Aruna[/name_m], Esmerey.
I donât think [name_f]Selena[/name_f] is too tied to [name_f]Selena[/name_f] Gomez!
Other moon names:
[name_f]Aylin[/name_f]
[name_f]Selene[/name_f]
[name_f]Monday[/name_f]
Marama, Moon, Lune, Mahina, Chan, Chantara

[name_f]Chandra[/name_f] â Sanskrit âmoonâ
[name_f]Mahina[/name_f] â Hawaiian âmoonâ
[name_m]Varuna[/name_m] â Hindu religion sky and sea deity
My mind doesnât automatically go to [name_f]Selena[/name_f] Gomez, but it does go to the late [name_f]Selena[/name_f] Quintanilla-[name_m]Perez[/name_m].
A lot of names have already been mentioned, but supposedly, [name_f]Neoma[/name_f] means ânew moon.â
Cressida and [name_f]Kamaria[/name_f] are two gorgeous ones!
Thereâs also [name_f]Nuray[/name_f], which means bright [name_f]Moon[/name_f].
I already commented above, but with the altered direction of stars and night, I have more to add!
Also, I missed a few with mythology ties to the moon:
Artemis
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f]
++
Leila â Arabic ânightâ
Variations â [name_f]Laylah[/name_f], [name_f]Layla[/name_f], [name_f]Lilah[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], etc.
Amaya â Japanese ânight rainâ

[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] / [name_f]Estella[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f]

These donât mean moon but theyâre names of moons:

[name_f]Io[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalthea[/name_f]
[name_f]Leda[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f]

[name_f]Larissa[/name_f]
Aylin - moon halo (correct me if iâm wrong)
Senay - happy moon (again correct me if iâm wrong)
[name_f]Neoma[/name_f] - full moon
[name_f]Lucine[/name_f] - moon
[name_f]Canda[/name_f] - glowing like the moon
Maha - moon
[name_f]Mahina[/name_f] - Moonlight
[name_f]Zelenia[/name_f] - the moon
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] - the name of a moon of [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m]
My favourite would be [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] (and possibly its extension [name_f]Artemisia[/name_f]) without a doubt!
Lua hasnât been mentioned yet!
I really like [name_f]Selena[/name_f]; I know one but she spells it [name_f]Selina[/name_f]. I donât think the celebrity association is an issue. I never think of [name_f]Selena[/name_f] Gomez when I say my friendâs name.
[name_f]Selene[/name_f] is also lovely.
I would suggest [name_f]Helena[/name_f], [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], [name_f]Elina[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. According the Behind the Name, itâs possible they derive from [name_f]Selene[/name_f] (âmoonâ).
We just called our little girl [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] meaning [name_f]Moon[/name_f] Godess or bright and shining.
Another name is [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] which means [name_u]Halo[/name_u] if the moon which we may use if we have another girl
Selenaâs definitely not too tied to [name_f]Selena[/name_f] Gomez for me!
I feel old because my celebrity-[name_f]Selena[/name_f] association is [name_f]Selena[/name_f] Quintanilla-Pérez, who performed/recorded as [name_f]Selena[/name_f] (in the vein of first name only celebrities like [name_f]Cher[/name_f], [name_f]Madonna[/name_f], etc.).
I love so many of these âmoonâ names, but I canât think of any others that havenât been suggested.
These are all great!!! Picking a name is hard yall
Not quite a moon name but [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is a constellation name (and itâs really pretty!).
I also like [name_f]Elara[/name_f] which is one of [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m]âs moons.
Yes I love Lyra! Itâs one of my favorite, would pair it as Lyra Maeve
